Thankfully. I was over the AE's. I like the ICON style much better. AE's weren't defining elements for me and neither was the kink.

History?!? AE's were fairly recent editions to the BMW aesthetic (..early 2000's). While the kink has been present in some form on most BMW's, the Z3 Roadster/M Coupe didn't have it. Were those cars not BMW's to you? Many cars have the kink. I don't see it as being something that significant.

As I have said on the G8X side, if the reduction makes the grills proportional with rest of the car, that could look really, really nice.

Let's hope they shrink them enough to create a new, different, yet still pretty front end.

Haha! I'm sure there will be complaints either way.

I think the new M2 will look surprisingly good. I feel the same about the G8X in the flesh.

FF sake...leave this thing alone.
BMW already made perfect looking original M2 to not so perfect (just my opinion) by adding Civic Type-R lines. Now more Japanese edges added to next gen. :

With the next gen M3/4 getting significantly bigger (along with other issues I won't repeat), the M2 is poised to take over the spot traditionally held by the M3. Really hope they can get their design together.

Bigger can be ok, as long as they’re not overly big (as you said).

It's still an awful design. But in light of the tragedy of nuBMW it's up there with the 8 series in terms of being acceptable
