Excited for these 👌🏼

Will be a lot of fun and most likely the final generation of Manual transmissions from BMW….

I can see the DCT remaining. It was pulled from the G80 because of the AWD option which, I assume, the M2 will not have.

That's what I fully expect the G87 to have, that unfortunately could not be replicated with the F87. The EPS systems will just keep getting better and better, just hope the weight goes the other way (although not too many people seem to complain about G80).

10 years ago, I don't think I'd believe you if you told me Audi and Mercedes would offer dual-clutches while BMW would only have torque converters autos.

10 years ago, I don't think anyone would have believed that Ferrari will no longer offer manuals, Porsche would be selling more SUV's (some diesels) than sports cars and AMG would be releasing a 4 cylinder PHEV on their C63... yet here we are.

I'm not that upset though, because 2 pedals don't cut it for me whether it's 8AT or DCT. As we move to electric cars, DCT's will slowly die too, so it's a downhill slope regardless.

Really not feeling the BMW digital dash display. I was hoping it would be optional, but I guess no way around it.

Me too! Even if we could get a digital display with one big analogue rev counter in the middle of it like Porsche do.

Is it confirmed that the 2er will receive the new dashboard and dual-screen display (like the i4 concept)? Or is it maybe just the new software?

A lot of the recent spy pics showcase a more pre-LCI G20 like dashboard.

It comes 8/22 according to ynguldyn. So, that would be the second year of production, or MY2023 in the US.

The G87 begins production later that year, in November.

You can see the new dash design in this G87 test mule pic.

Ah, thank you for the clarification. I do wonder what the base setup will look like on the regular 2er, as I assume this will likely be an option/found on higher trims, similar to the MB A/CLA-CLass.

The big question is just how extensive the series models changes are... looking at the spy shots it looks to be just 2 larger screens connected by trim to appear as one big curved screen but the rest typical bmw....

I highly doubt the minimalist button free interior from i4 concept will translate to the series models, I see the hierarchy looking like this
-iX full minimalist interior as the low volume futurist technology demonstrator
-i4 slightly more minimalist and big screens standout from dash
-series models, just big screens rest the same
