Looking at the Apex guide page I saw this alternative is marked as not xdrive compatible. I’m a newb to wheel/tire mod so this might be a dumb question. What makes a set up xdrive compatible? Is it just that you need to have front tires taller than rear? Or the width matters too? Meaning as long as I have 40 in front and 35 in rear I’ll be fine? TIA!

One most any AWD car the rolling diameter between front and back should be within 1%. This is where tire size calculators on the web come in handy. I’ve found a tire about 3 sizes wider, but 1 size smaller in ratio, generally meets this requirement. (245/35 and 275/30).

I believe the delta with the ZTK package is 0.8% with a 245/35 and 255/35.

Others have already gotten you solid responses. In the end, we're shooting to keep the difference in overall tire diameter within 1% between the front and rear axles with xDrive chassis. The best way to do this is to check with a calculator as others have mentioned, but you can use the guide to select combinations of wheels and tires that are xDrive compatible as well.

pledges in the group buy have a range of eta's depending on the allocations and finishes from April to late May. Normal retail orders are likely early June for more stock.

can you run anything more aggressive on this car or will you start to rub?

I have an older set of wheels that I could potentially use from another car. I'm just curious as to how much "poke" there would be. My car is stock and will remain so adjusting camber, lowering, etc. won't occur. What size tire did you go with?

19x9.5 ET25 is just about flush with the ZTK fender extensions, and the extensions are about 4mm at their widest.

In the rear yes. The front, perhaps 275 with the right tire (not Falken rt660) if you’re good with poke. But still that might rub. 265 really is it in the front. I’ve fitted 285 rear no problem and with a little more offset I’m pretty sure 295 will work too but if you’re car is xdrive you’ll have to downsize the width front to 255 and I’m pretty sure a 255/40 will run lowered on H&r so perhaps 295/30 rear and 255/35 front?

would the car fit more aggressive wheels? as in a deeper lip not flat faced

It depends on what you mean by more aggressive. Significantly lower offset wheels that poke further out would need alignment adjustments to correct for the additional poke. If you mean can you run wider tires, then I'd recommend a staggered fitment with our 19x10 ET38 in the rear which will allow for a solid increase in tire width at the rear of the car. If going staggered on an xDrive car though you then have to be much more careful about tire size selection to maintain xDrive-compatible tire diameter differences between the front and rear axles.
