I don't know why people are so surprised by the price of the M performance exhaust? It's the same as the MPE in the G80/G82 it's nothing new

None of the M Performance branded products really add performance. Even the M-HAS is debatable, I haven’t seen any before/after lap times to prove otherwise.

I even think their literature is carefully avoiding the subject. Of course I could be wrong.

The HAS kit lowering the car up to an inch is an obvious performance tweak. However, most of the other parts are just for looks unfortunately. The exhaust saves weight, but for 8k? Nah. It's also not the place you want to move weight away from. Dumb idea.

The wings and aero kit do provide aero benefits but how much? No one will ever measure it in a wind tunnel.

The forged wheels are the best performance mod you can get.

Agreed, many itrms are cosmetic and focused on appearance.

Any performance upgrades can also be sourced from outside manufacturers (possibly better quality at same or less price.. and if making performance upgrades, I am far more concerned with quality and installed by a proven performance shop than installed by BMW for a warranty).

As for rims, there are far better options outside of BMW wheels (which to me, are nothing special looks wise).

Not me, but a lot of people like original manufacturer aftermarket equipment. Some just like building their mods into the original purchase for financial reasons; others don’t have the skill, confidence, or patience to build an aftermarket solution themselves.

Still want the center-lock wheel/hub upgrade M Performance Parts promised….

MP HAS didn’t get released until about 1.5yrs after the G80/G82 launched. Hopefully won’t be nearly as long of a wait for you M2 guys/gals but not surprised to see it unavailable currently.

Considering the car looks like it’s an xDrive mobile, or still sitting on shipping blocks, I seriously hope they hurry it up.

Indeed - quite expensive. Any idea who manufactures this exhaust for BMW?

I am pretty sure the HAS is actually negative in terms of performance. You're right that it's probably not a big deal when minimal drop is used, but it's going to put you into the bump stops faster.

The kit comes with shorter bump stops to accommodate for the lowered height and allow full suspension travel equal to the stock setup.

The M HAS does lower the car, but there is absolutely no proof there is any performance enhancement. Again, no lap time comparison to show a performance gain. On track, a suspension upgrade can give up to 1 second advantage per mile of track, even more on some tracks.

The wings and aero don’t provide any downforce. Read the press materials if you don’t believe me.

The OEM forged wheels are simply too large, I think you are better off with a set of smaller diameter forged wheels. Again not sure there is any proven performance gain.

So in theory M Perf parts may sound good, but unless someone is willing to provide data, they are just for looks. And there is nothing wrong with that, as long as you go in with open eyes.

The wheels are not interchangeable, so I seriously doubt that they’d actually fit in general

Seeing how stupidly overpriced these parts are makes me wonder how overpriced the car itself is…
