I personally think the live cockpit pro with HUD is worth it. I especially like it at night, as it matches the fancy interior with the already big curved display and ambient lights. Best of all, you can turn it off. Sure it's expensive, but I think it adds value. Not only does it display the obvious speed and RPM, but it also displays speed limits, navigational turns, music you're listening to, and gets customization per your M-Mode setting. I just did a 1000 mile road trip, and it even gave me a front collision warning (in Road M-mode) with a red warning I never seen before, as I am rarely ever in Road mode.

has anyone figured out a way for the car to start in Sport M Mode?
I dont mind the gauge layout, but I kind of hate the HUD unless in sport because id like to see rpm. Getting really annoying it changing it every time I get in the car, and every time I want to use cruise control |

Also I think someone said earlier that the HUD doesn't work with google maps, but mine works fine with android auto navigation (uses google maps) |

Yea it’s super annoying changing it every time I start the car, just to get a simple tachometer. Also annoying that I toggle cruise, and it takes me right back to road. This may motivate me to schedule my m package track day thing so that I can bitch at them!!! 😂 |

I've looked and looked and can't figure out how to see the tach on the HUD. Only thing I get is the turn by turn directions, speed limit indicator, and my current speed. Is there a setting I'm missing? I don't have any sport display options, and the view does not change if I'm in M1/M2 in the sport modes.
Edit: could this somehow be gated behind the break-in service? |

In my car (’24, auto), if I turn the m mode to sport, the HUD automatically changes to a simplistic view with tach and shift light. 450 miles here, no break in service yet.

There's a dude on the forum that has done it with hardwiring idrive. He posted YouTube video of the mod. He's kind of coy about it and it seems like a lot of work for something that Domagoj Dukec (google him) should have allowed us to have in the first place.

I have personally turned off HUD for daily/fun driving. On long trips and holiday drive I like it for information. But it otherwise feels distracting, I initially wanted it for rpm but its quite slow, dash is already quite slow when you want to use it for shift points and HUD adds another half a second or so delay. edit: hmm just tried to put the manual shifting on the fastest setting and feel like the dash rpms move faster than before, on the.middle setting thr shifting wasnt much slower but rpm line definitely was.
