Here in Australia you could have a fully specced G87 (less carbon sport seats/drive experience) and a G81 M3 x-drive Competition Touring (station wagon) for the drive away price of a lightly optioned base model 911 (992.2). To me to have two future classic M cars in the garage is definitely the way to go. |

Manual, agile m car and practical estate x drive. We can’t get the latter here. Porsche is dead to me. Unless I wake up one day and find a 7MT 991.2 that speaks to me. |

It would be interesting to know the profit margin Porsche achieves on an average ordered 911 delivered...my thinking is that research and development as well as build cost could not possibly equate to three times more than a G87. I would conclude that a robot in Mexico is not three times cheaper than a robot in Germany, I accept labor costs are higher in the latter, but three times higher...what I know for certain is my last Porsche had warranty claims within the first 6 months and the BMW for the same period remains at nil. Worshipping at the temple of Porsche has become too expensive!

Porsche has no choice but to keep jacking up prices since the dealers are taking massive profits with ADMs on all models. 100k ADM on a GT3 is ‘normal’. Porsche reads this as we’re charging too little. I love it. I’ll be able to sell my 992 T for more than I paid after driving it around for a couple years. I’d love to be able to trade up to the new Huracan with a 10,000 rpm redline!

Our dealers here in Atl don’t do markups- even on the GTS. They do require a bit of in house PPF and ceramic for about $6k. Nothing crazy. Had a buddy take delivery of his 7MT GTS last month. Gorgeous car but imho not worth the $185k sticker. I do think it will hold its value + $40k for a while, especially now that they’ve cut the manual.

When the GT4RS was announced I attempted to order it as I saw the potential of making a quick $50-$70k profit. I was told by the dealership that my purchase history with them would need to be greater than my last three factory orders...not sure how many more cars I would have needed to have purchased to obtained the elusive GT4RS....just as well as I probably would have kept the car and made my wife upset...happy wife=happy life.
