Okay, not to get into to much details, my wife does this thing all the time, so it`s not a big deal, but yesterday was kind of interesting because she hadn't experienced that before.
You know how cold it was yesterday, so she goes into the restaurant with this person and people started coming up to her asking if she was okay, meaning if she had a mental problem or was being kidnaped or
So she goes to them, why are you asking me? I look fine don`t I? Why don`t you ask him? Does he look okay to you? So after that she goes into a clothing store and the manager would not let the person in. My wife says, look it`s freezing outside he needs this and that, etc, just let him warm a bit and we`ll get what we need and then we`ll be on our way. So he let him in while they did their shopping. Usually she wouldn`t say anything to anyone and just do her thing and be on her way, but this time she actually said something back to make people realize that we are not always the victim.

we need more stories like this one...
giving a helping hand to those who need it.
i feel like todays society is lost, falling apart and there is no respect for life.

I buy this homeless guy by my work McDonalds every month. He cries every time. Cool dude but definitely abuses drugs and would spend money on it in a second.

Much appreciated! So far it hasn't been too bad. Sunday was my birthday and that is when the fever and chills hit. I guess I got covid for my birthday. 🙄

I lost mine about two weeks ago. Considering I was patrolling during the entire time/height of Covid, I didn't do too bad. When I finally caught Covid, I barely had a cough and a sore throat for two days, and I was still running 3-4 miles a few times a week. My vaccinated g/f had severe symptoms. In fact, she caught Covid back to back; reinfected within two days of testing negative.

Same here. My job required that I show up every day, no work from home at all. I have a crew of 25 under me that are public facing ever day, so I dodged this for a long time. I confess that a dude in India very nearly took me for a ride today.

I called tech support for QuickBooks from looking online, and the website looked legit, and they answered but clearly call centre in India...but I didn't think too much of it because everyone outsources to India. I even gave them remote access to the server, and they appeared to know what they were doing with QB, very familiar with it or so it seemed to me. They were explaining things as they went, but then told me it would take 2-3 hours of work to fix the database (and showed me through QB that it was partially corrupted)...so I was sort of buying it at this point. All looked legit.

But then they said to fix it, they needed me to sign up for a data protection and upgrade plan for like $5,500 for a two year subscription, or 3,700 for one year. And that they couldn't fix it unless I signed up. Much discussion then ensued, and they brought the price down to $2,900 for one year as the *absolute* best they could do. And this would include my next year's subscription already, so looking at it, I figured to resolve my technical issue I was paying an additional $1,200...but I really need this stuff to work, so I basically said ok.

But then they gave it all away...they said they could start immediately on working on repairing the database, and to mail them a cheque, but to prove that I was mailing it, they wanted me to fill out the cheque now and take a scan of it and send it to them as proof and then put it in the mail. And I asked them why not do Visa. Mutter, mutter, no, cheque only. So then I said no way, you can deposit a cheque from a scan. Which they assured me was utter nonsense and you couldn't do such a thing, and why would they ask me to mail the cheque if they could deposit it from a scan.

So I said they aren't getting anything till I get something in writing from QB detailing exactly what I was getting for my money, to which they assured me I would receive something in the next 30 minutes. So I said, great, I'll wait for that. Big surprise - have not received anything.

And I called the tech support again (but different number), and they have now fixed my issue, for no charge, and it wasn't India I was dealing with.

But I had that cheque out and everything...just never wrote it. Came so close to getting taken for a ride.

I confess I don't really understand the infatuation…….crazy obsession….with exhaust burbles and pops. A lime green Lambo drove by me burbling and popping and I thought it sounded like crap. That goes for all of the B&P exhaust tunes on motor vehicles.

Don't know neither but I know for sure that this is one of the facts which driving all BMW drivers into bad light and cliches. One of the reasons why I really hate the 3 series here, they had started with this.
