I was sorting though some scans of my old photo albums and came across this one. I would have been about 20 years old when I took this sometime around 1985. We were doing a lead change in the formation over the Sierras on the way down to Monterey (Fort Ord at the time) from Washington state. Using my first "real" camera and not really having any idea what I was doing, I still got some OK shots. It was a Minolta with a 50mm lens on it and probably Kodak 200 film. Even with digital, the NATO cammo against the bright sky would be a challenge to expose right. At least I got some prop blur.

Yeah Ed, still a great shot.
I always get a regret when I see military aircraft pix and slightly regret that I didn't accept the Navy's invitation to fly with them, back in 1969. I did the right thing career-wise, since I was a CPA and also had a very strong job offer in the "real world". Still, the thought of strapping on a jet and putting the pedal to the metal reins supreme as a potential experience missed.
