Of course it helps if you have a nice home in the first place
Best money we ever spent was a full backyard renovation. Seemed crazy at the time given the cost. But, it pays dividends ever single day. Agree.

Charging stations fail?
Hold my battery.

In November 2021, Congress passed the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which included $42.5 billion to increase access to high-speed internet in rural areas. Two years and seven months later, zero homes have seen the benefits of this money, and the projects will not even hit their start dates until 2025 or 2026 (at the earliest).

“There hasn’t been a single shovel’s worth of dirt that has even been turned toward connecting people,” according to Federal Communications Commissioner Brendan Carr.

Project implementation was reportedly hampered by regulations requiring providers to prioritize “certain segments of the workforce, such as individuals with past criminal records” and to account for climate related risks both now and in the coming decades."

Bloody hell.
It's called unaccountable theft. Duh.

The quarter billion pier fiasco could be the cherry on top.

I'm one of those rural people. High-speed fiber is literally just 2.2 miles down the street and it's been there for 10 years. Starlink and HughesNet have probably been fighting it the whole time.

We have a new leader on the horizon that's made a fool of the EaU.
Proposing to end the war on motorists, throwing out the carbon neutral nonsense (and ulez) meaning no more bans on gas and diesel cars with no legal requirements for manufacturers to sell EV's, ban all clean air zones and get rid of LTN's also scrapping the rest of this bloated vanity Hs2 rail plan saving Ł25 b. I love good news and will buy him pint of best beer if I see him

Concerns over electric vehicle fires on the rise
Jun 20, 2024
Panama City Beach firefighters had their hands full Monday night after an electric vehicle crashed on Back Beach Road.
The batteries on electric vehicles can not be extinguished by water, or anything else once they catch fire. Stories like this are becoming all too common on America’s roadways.
Firefighters used 45,000 gallons of water on the vehicle.
“We have seen an uptick in EV electrical fires and lithium ion fires a lot of times what’s happened is the fire will start with the battery. This isn’t really as much of a problem, say, in an Atlanta or a Dothan or a Birmingham. There’s no salt water there. So where you have a high mineral content water, this is where it has become of a concern for the state of florida.

Not that I care much, but there is a video from some internet car dude (influencer) that removed the frunk innards of his Cybertruck and found a leak on the inner left front fender. Perhaps pressurized water is getting into an electronics module somewhere.

What a waste and as stated before many times that fire water now contaminated flowing into drains and.back to reservoirs...then home water taps?

IKEA will deliver your new EV!
The tiny electric car that comes disassembled and delivered in boxes
June 23, 2024
Luvly O electric minicar

Don't let its compact size fool you. Measuring just 8.8 feet long and 5 feet wide, the Luvly O is lightweight at under 880 pounds. But thanks to its electric motor and 6.4 kWh battery, this pint-sized two-seater minicar can zip you around town for up to 62 miles on a single charge with a zippy top speed of 56 mph. It also has a trunk space of approximately 9.43 cubic feet.

The Luvly O's innovative flat-pack shipping model was inspired by IKEA furniture.
The Luvly O is built with safety as the top priority. The chassis is made of a special combination of padded aluminum and plastic foam, designed to absorb impact and keep you safe in case of a collision. Plus, it comes with a mobile app that lets you control everything from GPS location to door locks.

See, this actually make sense, not these 400+ mile range EV monsters carrying a heavy lead weight around whether you are fully charged or have no juice left.
Take advantage of EV's best abilities (majority of them are city car advantages such as instant acceleration, no noise and no emission), make it cheap (so more can get access to them), keep them in cities (more charging infrastructures attainable).

But we are stuck with 3 ton monsters like a cybercunk.

All that's left is figure out these pesky fire issues.

If a LiPo battery factory burns down, is that bad for the environment? Just asking for a friend.

I think Greta was busy at the PGA Golf Tournament in CT.

Does it come with a seat, or do you pick something from the IKEA catalog?
