Even the 330 will give you standard sensatec dash and doors. M2 gets screwed.
They already went over their budget with the seats and the carbon roof this time for us so they have to screw the M2 some other way lol
Yeah right, they're charging 2600 cf and forcing a carbon pack to get buckets so they're actually making a ton of money on those options.

Pretty sure they're identical dimensions to the G8X...

Does anyone who has seen it in person know if it has factory PPF in front of the rear arches, like on the F87?

Maybe… this is serious, maybe they didn’t bother as much knowing that most people who p/u an M2 are gonna do that anyway?

New wheels, spacers, lowered suspension.
I know that sounds ridiculous, but I’m actually thinking it’s possible. IMO the m2 attracts people more inclined to mod their car.

Or, maybe they just cheaped out.

Wheels might be, but look at all of the pictures of the M2. The tires (especially in the rear) have a lot of stretch on them.

Could be, but I'm going with "cheaped out" or didn't want it to have too much grip compared to M3/4.

I currently own an RS3 sedan 8V - after having owned an M135i - and I was quite tempted on going back to BMW, even though I am not aligned with the decisions BMW is taking lately (ZF8 vs DKG, FWD, designs, etc.) and that the RS3 is a much better daily than an M2 could ever be, I like the G87. It is not good looking (same with the M135i back then) but it has a lot of personality and it attracts me IDKW. That said, I asked for an offer of a black M2 and oh God, almost €110k after discounts. I bought the RS3 almost 5 years ago for €65k. That is A LOT of money. I don't think this M2 can be €45k better than my RS3 (the same with the almost €35k for the new RS3, this is not a brand thing…). Today car's prices are not at all justified!

Specs on the first page show this has the same tire and wheel size as the G80/82 with the 19"/20" wheels.

Well 5 years ago is a long time The M2 has laways been more expensive than the RS3. I paid 83k CAD for my 2020 M2C, the new one would be 94k CAD same spec. 13% difference, but 4-5% of that is the fact that you don't get any discounts anymore. Seems reasonable to me. sure if you add all the carbon seats and roof then you are paying way more...but you are essentially geting an F87 M2CS at that point.

I already mentioned the new RS3 in my message, it is not an M2 specific complaint...

I'm not saying it was. I'm saying go actually try to buy an RS3. Not sure about there but here it starts at 58900 which is a few grand off but with not as good interior then when you option it I'm sure it will be very similar. But then you're not getting one without it being marked up like crazy

Got you now, and you are correct. And that is the reason why I didn't even thought on replacing RS3 by RS3 because, to me, it is a step downwards. The M2, though, it is in another level it seems. My point is that probably it is not worth those €45k more.

Gotcha. My current car is worth $25-30k maxed at 540 hp. Interior is from 2013 and mid sized four door. So for me the 40-45k jump is worth it for a 460 stock, modern interior sports coupe.

If separately the carbon seats are $4600 option, the carbon roof is $2600, the carbon interior trim is $800, totaling $8000. Where does the additional $1600 go towards?

"Alot of stretch" is very subjective because I see a minimal amount of stretch.

For the best handling, you put the skinniest tires (within tire mfr recommendations) on the widest wheels, this makes the sidewalls stiff so they'll hold up during cornering and G-events.

Conversely, if you are racing in the wet, you want more sidewall, ideally something like an 18" rim with 45 profile tires or whatever makes it equal the OEM size, the sidewall flex in the rain is optimal for holding a line in wet conditions, but realistically, cars are going to come optimized for the first paragraph.

When the tire is very stretch on the rim. But this is not the case, the M2 has the same rim and tire sizes as the M3/4, and the 285 fits perfectly on the 10.5" rim.
For reference, the F87 had 265 on 10"rims.

Dumb question, can the stock wheel take a wider tire. It appears to have the room or is it a matter of fitting in wheel well without rubbing?

10.5 rims can take 295 even 305 tires but doesn't mean it fits well inside the fender and gives a good cornering feel.
