Happy Labor Day everybody. Labor Day in 1985 was the day before my senior year in high school started. I saw these four bands that night. Got home at 3AM. Was a rough start to the first day of my senior year!

And "X" was the opener, but I do not see anything by them on YouTube.

That must have been an awesome night. I might not have made it to school until day two.

It was excellent! My girlfriend then, now wife of almost 31 years, slept thru Aerosmith. I tease her about that to this day!

Sleeping through Aerosmith??? That's a big strike on the "Keeper List". She's obviously pretty special to make up for that and still be putting up with you after all these years of teasing. Don't ever let her go.

Sage advice, my friend. FWIW, I had been... ummm... re-filling her drinks often....

This is just great !!

Why on earth haven't I ever heard of them??

Thank you so much for posting this marvelous music, I hear influences from Gandalf the great Austrian multi-instrumentalist (I do like his older work very much)

Just gives me goosebumps.

Speaking of Gandalf; his Masterpiece IMHO, released 1982

Haha, not sure but I'm glad to have introduced such a great band to you in any case.

I suspect you'd be interested in a British artist called Bonobo. If you're not already familiar with him, you ought to check him out. He uses a lot of world music influences as well as jazz with his style which is very unique. Some of it is more upbeat and incorporates modern electronica which I really enjoy. Here's a track from an album called The North Borders (2013) which is quite good.

Cirrus

One more and this really sounds very much like Morcheeba that was referenced earlier in this thread by a fellow member hubbahubba (The Sea).

Really good stuff IMO.

I`m not, but Ill listen to it,.

I really like the old skool synth music; JMJ., Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Patrick O`Hearn, Gandalf, Johannes Schmoeling, Robert Schröder, Peru, Yello, Eddie Jobson.

Just to name a few

I also like your ambient postings, from the older synth music to ambient, or trance music is just the next step IMO

Tangerine Dream was one of my faves as a child and I bought a bunch of their albums on vinyl! As you probably know they did a lot of music scores for movies.

Well I'm glad someone around here appreciates my various ambient and electronic music postings. Lol.

Vangelis; 1492, just incredible
Vangelis; Blade Runner, epic is just not good enough to describe this album

I posted this a while back but I've been following this guy based in the UK Azure State who is a master of ambient music and he does a number of covers including TD and Vangelis. This is a good example.

Romo, those are definitely some old school sounding tracks alright. Hey here's an artist I think you'd be interested in.

Ulrich Schnauss

This track mesmerized me the first time I heard it. There are bits in it that remind me of a group called Cocteau Twins (an ethereal alternative music group out of Scotland).
