That was honestly enough to make me stay away from this gen. It was just so so bad and prominent.

2023 M2  [8.33]
Things I noticed

It doesn't appear to have the corporate G8X/4 series grill.
The rear tires finally look like they have some meat on them.
The roof is black or it could very well be carbon but we can't tell due to the quality of the photos.
Still has that "interesting" muffler.
And it appears to have a floating rear caliper. I'm hoping that it doesn't.

So at the end of the day, BMW did a hell of a job hiding the details.

My FBO 235 is really fun, so I feel like I could wait it out? But, yes the M2C has everything I've ever wanted right from the factory.

Really? I hope it absolutely does NOT have 450lbs + worth of drive shaft, transfer case and axels up front... if you don't know how to drive a rwd car, go buy an Audi

With respect, you chose to post a pic of a murdered out F87 rear (complete with rear deflector delete) that shows none of the lines. There are early test mules that show off more of the body lines than this pic!

Wait it out, the second these things drop so will the price of current m2's.. ($20k for OG M2) don't waste your money right now specking out a car that rides on a 5 year old chassis

For me, the rear end of the current M2 is perfect, way nicer than the one of the M4. And the front end grill of the OG is more beautiful than the one of the M2C, whose weird big unigril seems out of place to me. But I admit that I'm heavily biased, as I own a M2 LCI

On the side picture, the front end of this G87 looks much longer than the one of the F87. Weirdly, it make the car look like a mix of a F87 and a Camaro

The grill is of course what makes me the most worry about the G87... Looking forward to seeing the final result!

Well, it's my car which is why I posted it

I'm not saying it's a perfect rear end but I think 'horrible' is a bit of an exaggeration.

I'd do terrible things to get this in xDrive as a replacement for M340i xDrive when that lease is up. Love me the 2er.

I will probably hold on and not sell my M2C LCI. I plan to use it as a project car in future, will mod it up.

But... really interested to get the next LCI M2C once it's available 5-6 years down the road, if the price point makes sense.

Based on pics, it looks a little bigger. I hope they don't add too much power, but instead make the platform lighter and steering better.

But for some reason, I think BMW is going to mess it up. How many great BMWs are out there? Not many.

Exactly, because to me this is a very persuasive argument AGAINST the F87 rear compared to the F82. Looks are subjective, although you should try explaining that to some of our fellow members railing against the Big Grilles on the G80 forums (where I am accused of being a BMW schill because I honestly love them).

you can always buy an older model if the G87 doesn't suit you (although I can't imagine why it wouldn't as the new M235 is sick).

Cant believe people on here are seriously asking for Xdrive & 4 doors, if that's what you want your definitely not the target demographic & should be looking at the M3, M5, X3, X5 etc, etc, etc, there are enough barges in the BMW range already to choose from, we don't need any more !.
The M2 is the last true drivers car BMW make & it's barely clinging on to that, for gods sake focus on what makes it the success it is, which is the dynamics. Not the bloody grill or entertainment system or headlight/tail light design or other such trivial rubbish.
I've no doubt the looks & inclusions will be just fine, the major concerns must be changes to what makes the M2 an M2 such as additional mass, drivetrain options, steering feel etc. If you can't see that your looking at the wrong car.
