There were no tire or skid marks present. I'm personally betting on distracted driving (That's what happened with his Escalade crash IIRC) although he was also reported of almost hitting another car earlier that morning and having a very bad attitude the day of.

Yeah, I read that too. Early reports were woefully inaccurate.

You really can't tell an engine intrusion or non-intrusion from any of the photos. It's purely speculative in both directions.

There is video of tiger driving on that road right before crash, it does not show the crash but it shows him following another SUV at normal speed and no signs of being out of control. It looks like he just drove off the road for no apparent reason as media and everyone has been speculating.

I guest we will all have to wait until the police report gets leaked.

It sounds like the sheriff's department is jumping the gun just like the media did when they put out stories without any sense of the actual facts.

Would it make sense to check cell phone records, black box recorder, dash cam video (if available), toxicology report, before rendering a conclusion. I mean, wait a day or two and get it right.

You've brought this pic up with the suv on it's side so it can be seen why Tiger's right leg had multiple fractures,the PU's ripped off it's mounts piercing the bulkhead and on removing the wreck the PU moved with little holding it.
The Genesis must've hit the tree head on at a certain degree of right angles.

Cold brakes provide max bite but I don't think the Hyundai chassis is known for its braking prowess.

Dead on with the telemetry. I think they record the last 30 seconds or 1 minute of the vehicle's performance, if I remember correctly.

This isn't done for your 'typical' accident in any jurisdiction. He didn't cause injury or death to another, so they'll do a preliminary investigation and move on to the next one.

Go down to your local PD, collect all of the accident reports from yesterday, and check how many have toxicology reports and cell phone usage data included.
