Just called a dealership in Maryland to get on a waiting list for the G87. They have one customer on the list so far but they're asking for 25K over MSRP when the car comes in

I lol'd

Do those morons think they're sellin' Lambo's?

That's a red flag to never deal with them ever again.

I would laugh as well....However, with car prices the way they are right now, I'm not shocked.

Try Reza at BMW of Bellevue. I picked up a M4CX this week from a no deposit allocation in late January. MSRP. Don't know if that policy has changed since.

Talked to another dealership not too far that put me on a waitlist and I'm first according to the CA. He said they will do MSRP and no deposit required, said they won't ask for one until it becomes available to order. Only thing I have in writing is an email from him saying I'm first on their list. Nothing very official looking and nothing from his general manager or sales manager. Should I try to get something else in writing to feel more secure about it?

Just spoke to Sayed at Patrick BMW & Mini IL.

They will be taking orders once the car is officially announced as that is when they will have the allocations.

I can’t wait until this every car is over MSRP environment is over. These are not GT3 Porsches or Ferraris. A base M2 only should not be that hard to buy. Car companies should reign in these dealers as they are hurting the brand reputation by trying to make a short term buck.

It's really wild, I was being told anywhere from 5K - 25K market adjustment when calling around. The worst ones were the one dealer who wanted 25K and another who wanted 20K. Some of them were also mentioning they're going to do upwards of a 50K market adjustment for the M4 CSL.

The dealer who agreed to do MSRP for the G87 did mention they might do a market adjustment for the M4 CSL but not on normal M cars. It's insane

Yeah I'm going to talk to that CA again and ask to have something more substantial in writing with manager approval rather than just having the email I was given

Makes me laugh how fast dealers are to make money on a car that doesn't even exist yet but oh no sir, that will be 1000 to secure a booking on a product I know nothing about and can't actually promise you'll get

Speaking of promises sounds like a lot have been thrown around, hope they can keep them when the time comes.

Personally I’m not too worried about waiting until allocations are out to grab one. It will likely be a very different market when these puppies arrive.

- Microsoft announced hiring freeze.
- Jamie Diamon is saying a sh*t storm is coming to the economy and to brace yourself.
- Elon Musk is giving directives for a complete hiring freeze and large job cuts since he has a “super bad feeling” about the economy.

These are not people without a clue…

I think stores will have 5-10 on the list before the car even hits production.

Sorry, I rather not disclose. Southeast region. All current deposit holders are M owners with three as loyalty owners of 35+ years. Edit: Two owners have stated that this will be their last new M car and both want the manual.
