I can just as easily turn this back to you by saying... This is a car forum. You weren't looking for an award-winning op-ed to YouTube videos here, were you?

Not sure why you're defending yourself here. I was in agreement with you from the very beginning; the video was nothing but drivel.

This is what happens online, things just get lost in translation. Thought you were making a snide comment which to be honest was baffling. My bad.

It sounds really strange.
My dad's M240i had both M Performance front splitter and rear spoiler and no adaptive suspensions, what would they have coded for the chassis then?

If it was factory or more likely port installed, it was already coded at that time so he’s all set.

Okay, but what exactly did they code on fixed suspensions?

It’s coded to either fixed or adaptive. It’s a downforce / lift thing.

How long have they been out now, 2+ years? I still despise them; in fact, think I hate them now even more because I associate it with BMW doubling down on big fugly grilles.

I think it looks amazing on the m3 touring, looks pretty good on the m3, and am impartial about it on the m4. I think it looks better on the bigger vehicles. With the m4 it's too much nostril or buck tooth, the ratio is too much. Maybe it would look good on an x5m.

I wouldn't go so far as say amazing on the M3T, but it does fit better on larger cars. But it's not just BMW, many automakers seem to be in love with larger grills, following the herd.

Ok, but since the big grills on the G80/82/i4/iX, recent BMW designs has retraced back to a smaller-ish grill, albeit with the more angular geometric shapes (thinking G87 and the XM). Maybe that's a good sign.
