How is it better than the M240? Same color infinitely better engine. Sorry you asked for it but just say you can't afford the 40 version or the M.

That's very subjective what color looks better than the other. Hell, two different people don't perceive the same color the same way.

Moonroof and ZF8 are big no-no's for me, but I can tell you this:
Very few M2 owners wonder about how an M240i feels and drives. On the other hand, quite a few M240i owners seem to wonder what an M2 is like based on the frequency of these questions.

Price may or may not have something to do with it. My budget was good for a bucket-seat 718 GT4, but ended up getting the M2 instead for tunability and other concerns, allocation being one of them.

It's not the same color. Thundernight Metallic looks better than Twilight Pearl or whatever it's called.

My budget does not fit a Cayman GT4. But if it did, and it wasn't to be a daily, I'd no question get the GT4. This is why there are so many choices in the market, everyone has different needs/desires.

You clearly can't read. You're in an M2 forum, why? Envious much?
I said the M240 is the same color as the M230 but had a far superior engine and suspension and other stuff that I can't be bothered to go look up.
Who's buying a M2 worrying about gas mileage? And you're saying a 4 cylinder gets better mileage than a six? Wow who would have thought 😆😆
That's literally the only thing it beats the M240 in.

As for the color, have you seen one in person? Probably not. Color is also subjective so your point is moot.

The 240 is B58 inline six with a single scroll, dual inlet turbo.

Base price is a $14.9k difference - 50.6k vs 65.5k for a M240 rwd vs a M2, which is more comparable until the M2 XDrive is priced. With that said, I’m sure the M2 xdrive will easily be a $5k addition on the M2 base making the differential even worse.

The math comment was rude. I apologize for that.

I was trying to see where a 230 entered the discussion.

Yeah, nobody buying an M2 is cross shopping a 230. No in this reality anyway.

That dude says his 230 is better than the 240 and M2 lol.
I mean if you want to get into the brand and a newer one that's cheap that's not bad. But to say it's better is absolutely ridiculous

it seems like the OP has left the building, but I will offer my experience in case its helpful

My experience is F series based but probably still relevant

I went from a 2018 M240i to a 2020 M2C

When I first picked up the M2, I thought oh man this is not that different than the M240i, but after a while I learned to appreciate a true M car

the M2 fed the passion in lots of ways that the M240i didn;t

looks, I looked back at the M2C all the time, never realy did with the M240i (I think the gap on the G series is less there, but still is there I think)

handling: no comparison, M2C was way more fun on the curves

engine: B58 is a beast of an engine but it lacks the character of a true M engine, the S55 has a more motorsport feel to it, I imagine the S58 does as well

overall I enjoyed the M2C much more than the m240i and it satisfied my need for a car that I felt passion for

If I could go back in time, I would have got the M2C straight off and not wasted time with the M240i

In terms of value I lost on the M240i and lost nothing on the M2C but that was partly due to the weird pandemic market (m240i was pre pandemic)

In a nutshell I would say to the OP get the M2 unless you need the awd capability

What does the M2 have over the M240i other than horsepower? It's hard to argue it's a better looking car so that is thrown out. Same interior. Slower 0-100. No AWD. Same hood and trunk so aftermarket options overlap a bit. Both have comparable tuning options. Throw some Bilstein coilovers on it and it solves an issue people have with the car. M240i is not expensive to get horsepower out of and cheaper to do so. Bonus: some Supra mods will work on the car too.

If you track your car or know how to push it to the limit on backroads (doubtful) then sure get the M2 otherwise there is no real reason other than dick swinging at a cars and coffee or something.

Maybe your dick is too small for an M2
