impressive looking, but i bet that house has a sh*tty interior layout. those 2 garage right, 2 garage left homes have usually jacked up interior layouts.

Houses are cheaper but the real estate taxes are very high! Thought about moving to San Antonio.

Looks like it is just one house with a 4 car garage.

Yeah, I agree but this floorplan seems to work pretty well. What you think?

This house was CLEARLY designed outside-in, and for show (2 staircases near each other). I don't like it for a few reasons:

1) question: is the dining completely open to the foyer? I don't like homes that have that.
2) The proportion of the Master bdrm sitting area to Master bdrm seem too large, same with butlers pantry to kitchen. No windows in kitchen, I always think its a nice feature above the sink area.
3) its hard to tell without more detailed drawings.

My folks are building a dream house, so I am kinda familiar with these things, as I helped them design it. I really, really like the architect. What I've noticed he does is he designs inside-out. Meaning, he'll custom design it to my parent's needs, and then he'll still be able to make a beautiful exterior elevation. Even though he designs some of the most expensive homes in the country (He designed a 30+mn home in Houston that I'm aware of), he believes in keeping things understated, which I respect. This house is pure bling.

From what I could find the neighborhood is almost a year old. That was the only pic I could find but the builder is top notch. http://www.industrialnewsupdate.com/...caas_1_bui.php Good luck!

The dining room has some view to the foyer from what I can tell but not completely.

2) The proportion of the Master bdrm sitting area to Master bdrm seem too large, same with butlers pantry to kitchen. No windows in kitchen, I always think its a nice feature above the sink area.

The Master sitting has a radius of 12 ft and the Master bd rm is 16 x 19 so bedroom is larger. I don't think windows would be a concern especially if you are not in it and the kitchen staff is doing all the cooking anyway. Butlers pantry is smaller than the kitchen. The Butler’s pantry is filled with additional china and glassware that is needed for food service. The butler made final preparations here for the meals which he served in the dining room. The presentation, or look of the food on the plates, became an art form for the butler.

Helping is one thing but buying is another I pay around $2100 for property taxes in SC and here in Hawaii $2000 taxes is for home near $1 million. Texas is different and the taxes are about 3 times that the last time I checked a few years ago. Taxes can easily add another $500 to the mortgage payment.

I tend to agee this home was built to create curb appeal and fit into an upscale neighborhood. But I do like the floorplan, as it appears to be quite functional as oppose to other homes I've seen with the split two car garage design.

There are no windows in the kitchen but the keeping room has a wall of windows which should allow a lot of natural light to flow in.

The dining room is open but it appears to be large enough (with columns for seperation) so as traffic won't be a problem. You wouldn't actually have to walk through it to access other parts of the home.

I'm pretty sure the two stair cases are farther apart than they seem. The upward spiral is located on the very end and the foyer is spacious as well.

I agree about the Master suite, but it's very common in todays luxury homes to go all out in master bedroom. Bling for sure.

Building your dream home can quickly turn into a nightmare if all parties involved are not working closely together. I hope your parents building project goes well.
