Whats lead time for the diff fluid? I would insist on this. Are you able to go to a different dealership for this?

My appt is scheduled for a week from tomorrow now instead of tomorrow. Another local member Searay55555 took his in to a different dealership on Friday and they still have it waiting on the fluid (they drained it before realizing they were out). He was told it would be in by Wed so we shall see if they still have in the following Tues lol.

Best of luck! I’m at 350 miles and counting, held up in PPF. Hopefully they have diff fluid where I am at lol.

Anyone here in the 6MT have any feedback on clutch? I’m getting a lot of engine feedback after 350 miles. Feels a little raw, not sure if that’s just the car or what. I’ve been super easy on clutch. Starting to think it’s just opening up.

Almost is like a slight reverb upon disengage.

Last Friday until this Wednesday in a 530 loaner. Its night and day from the M2. Like a silent rolling living room on wheels. I should have chosen the X3 option.

I was going to post a classified ad at some point, but if anyone needs diff fluid let me know. I bought some for my M2 recently when the dealer in VA couldn't get it and I needed to get back to Chicago with the car. My home dealer ultimately sold and shipped the fluid to the Richmond dealer, but I had already found and overnighted another set to VA from another dealer. So I have 4 bottles unopened of the fluid. You need 3 bottles for the service.

Well she no longer sounds like a Tesla lol. Valves closed is still oem sounding. Valves open more aggressive. Sings in the upper rpms. Will let it break in a bit before deciding if needing DP too.

Hey guys, quick question: How much did you guys pay in tax for the car? I've ran the numbers on an online calculator multiple times and checked through Edmunds' calculator this morning and got a very different number that has me a bit confused. I live in OC so my sales tax rate is 7.75% but on Edmunds, it said there was a sales tax, district tax, and a county tax, which ended up being way higher than 7.75% of the sticker and was more like 10%.

Will dealers only charge your city/county's sales tax or add these other charges as well? I ran it through the CA DMV website just in case and the number was the exact same as my first calculation.

State should be the same regardless of dealer, but city tax will vary depending which you go to. Don't forget the tax credit you also get if you are trading in as that takes a chunk of tax on top of the actual value of the trade.

I don't think we have any tax credit for trading in a vehicle in CA. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh my fault didn't realize that was a state by state item. We have it here in AZ.

Congrats! I also have my order in with BMW Fremont. Did you have to pay any ADM? When i talked to them they were charging 5000$ ADM but they waived it for me as i had bought my 2020 M2 Competition from them in the past.

Try this link from the California DMV. It calculates all the taxes and fees and should provide a close estimate. Alternatively, your dealer should be able to give you a pricing sheet with the breakdowns.

Yes I got charged a bunch of stuff. I ordered through Long Beach BMW but I’m in OC. I think it’s all normal tax stuff if I’m not mistaken so we get just the 7.75% plus dmv costs.

But then again I was so eager to drive off I just handed them my card lol. I probably should go back and triple check, not that it
Makes a difference now.

I joined their waitlist last November. They were promising MSRP back then. My CA did say if I were a new customer buying today, there will be 5k ADM on the car.
