Congrats! When did you place your order? They have tons of allocations, it was 8 weeks from order to delivery.

Placed the order Mid-October

Wow i honestly cant imagine waiting 1 year for this car. Mine should be arriving in Jan and i placed my order beginning of November. At least thats what they tell me.

Glad you did manage the MSRP though, i honestly would have just bought the M4 had they attempted selling the car to me with markup.

Haha yeah I wasn't in desperate need for a new car so I just waited. The allocation was quite hard to come by in the early days, I was quite in the front on the WL (3rd?) but didn't get my allocation until end of July this year. Now things seem to move much faster.

My car’s been stuck in Ready for Transport for over 2 weeks now, I contacted BMW Genius and they said that it’s on the way to the port of manufacturing from the factory.

Shouldn’t this be at either “dispatched from factory” or “at port?” I’m not sure if at port means that it’s at the destination port or the Mexican port.

If my car is lucky enough to make it on Heritage Leader (arriving in Lazaro Cardenas on Dec 1 and Port Hueneme on Dec 7), how long would you guys estimate it would take for me to take delivery? Dec 7 is a Thursday and I’m assuming it won’t clear the VDC until at least Dec 11 and I’m not sure how long it would take from Port Hueneme to Long Beach BMW with the PDI and all that stuff. I was honestly hoping for delivery before the middle of December but honestly all of this extra stuff is killing my hopes…

The flexible delivery date is honestly the most annoying part, if they gave me a date where it would be guaranteed by, even if it’s the end of December, that would at least make me feel better, instead I’m guessing and tracking ships and praying 😭😭😭

I was in RFT for a month before it flipped to “In Transit” and was already on the ship. Same thing happened with numerous people in this thread that were on the same boat. You are more than likely already at the port awaiting a vessel. I wouldn’t count on seeing a change until a few days after your carrier is already en-route to Hueneme.

My car took about a week and a half once at the port in Hueneme to get to LB BMW. PDI takes only a couple of hours at the dealership. If you mean PDI at VPC then that takes about a few days. Assuming you don’t have any port installs and there is not any recalls or vehicle transit damage (that rarely happens so don’t worry).

Just called BMW Genius today, they told me my car finished production on Nov 7 and has been at the port for over 2 weeks now.

Hopefully it’ll make it on Heritage Leader!

About par for the course. Iirc mine was completed and at port waiting to ship out about a month but things have been moving more quickly lately. You should be on the next scheduled boat I would guess barring any logistical delays.

Does anyone know if the VPC works on weekends if your car is Priority 1? Mine should be arriving at Port Hueneme by Dec 7 if it makes the next boat (Heritage Leader) which is a Thursday…

Thanks in advance

Do you remember which day of the week the car arrived at the dealer by any chance? Asking since we both ordered through LB

It seems like majority of east coast orders are being shipped now. Anybody know next shipment info for west coast?

Mine arrived on a Saturday but the trucking companies work on weekends. If your car is out of VPC in time, you have a chance of getting to the dealer on a weekend.

Mine has been "ready for transport" almost 3 weeks. I think they are waiting to fill up the boat destined for California. Hope to get mine in time for Christmas.

Next ship from Lazaro Cardenas to Port Hueneme is on Dec 1, Heritage Leader

Mine’s been at the port for 2 weeks, hopefully both of ours make it on

I had a similar situation. On the list since Oct 2022, #8, received allocation begining of July 2023, and took delivery in Oct 2023. No rush at all and at MSRP. This table here from another post helps explain the long wait this past year. It wasnt until around Sept 2023 that things started to pick up.

Thank you for the info. If mine is still at “ready for transport” since 11/16, will I be able to make it this one?

No guarantees, not even sure if mine is going to make it tbh.

Also, don’t trust the tracker, it lags heavily. Email or call the BMW Genius hotline and they’ll tell you the status of your car. Mine was on ready for transport around the same time as you but it actually completed assembly on 11/7 and was sitting at the port for 2 weeks now.

I asked my SA about a production number, and the weird thing is she told me that they wouldnt get a production number until after the car is built? Is that correct? I was under the impression that i could get tracking on the car from allocation to delivery. Unless i'm mistaken and all the tracking you guys have been getting have been from completion of build to delivery?
