It is an outstanding lens. On the 7D2, the AF locks in instantly, even with the 1.4x TC-III attached and the IS is absolutely rock solid. I was shooting the bare lens for the damselfly shot, but I think that combining it with the ET-25 extension tube and the 1.4x TC-III will give great magnification with very comfortable working distances. I think it'll be a perfect butterfly rig.

Probably my last weekend shooting the Osprey this year. The little ones (not so little anymore) have learned to fly and it won't be long before the nest is empty until next year as they move on.

jmg, love the Carrera Targa. I helped my buddy buy an '87, lightly used, back in the day. Had lots of fun tearing around West Texas in that thing and racing it in an AX or two, or three.

Thanks, DC. I was pretty happy with it as I hadn't even readjusted settings yet after using the 70-200. After the shot I realized I was still at f2.8, so I'm surprised the DoF is as good as it is.

I just had occasion to re-edit some pix from 2008. There were some good shots in the mix, but I was stunned at how much better I am as a photographer and editor. Also, the editing software today runs circles around the 2008 versions.
