I believe typically ships spend like 12-24 hours in port. So I imagine it would leave maybe tonight or tomorrow.

haha I was mostly joking, honestly its super surprising that it only takes that long to load that many vehicles onto the ship and secure them and everything. It takes me 12 hours to package car parts up to sell and mail...anyone want some rays 57 CRs in eternal blue hahaha or a Supra steering wheel

Haha oh my bad. 😆 Usually I’m good at detecting sarcasm. It honestly is impressive they’re able to load up a ship with thousands of cars in less than a day.

Worked a high volume lot at college - it goes quick. Us 3 or 4 lazy, potentially hung over, college kids could relocate 250+ cars to the overflow and back, through snow, in a couple hours so we could plow. Our biggest challenge was key management, something I'm sure they don't have to deal with!

They do hundreds a day, but not thousands.

I’m also banking on your CA, as I’m also PO-NY/NJ.

I still have the HAS port install and the trip up to CT to deal with after port delivery.

A while ago, mtoo had posted this schedule for Glovis Sunrise. Obviously the dates aren't accurate anymore but these may be the ports it's visiting. Baltimore's on there, which is my destination. Based on our evidence, Brunswick and NYC must be stops too.

Video of loading cars on a ship if you haven’t already googled it. Crazy fast and parked super close.

For reference, the Glovis Cardinal spent 2 days and 6 hours in Altamira loading up cars. When it dropped cars off, it was around 12 hours scheduled per stop.

I blame that on the KIAs.

I noticed that the Glovis Sunrise is on the Altamira schedule. It is slotted to spend 30 hours and pick up 2500 autos.
(I wouldn't rely on the accuracy of 30 hours, because the Glovis Cardinal was scheduled for 28 hours, and it actually spent 2 days and 6 hours).

Overall, the Glovis Sunrise can carry up to 7300 vehicles, so that's 4800 in Veracruz and 2500 in Altamira.

I really hope this is the one

My CA reached out to me an hour ago (very kind of him, especially on his day off).

Quote:
Evidently, a couple of BMW big shots were visiting our store today and your car came up in the conversation.
Bottom line your car will be put on a ship scheduled to leave on the 20th. With a little luck, we might see it by the end of this month.

The status of the car will be updated in the next few days.
Now there are obviously some points of confusion that I will try to clarify with him.

On the one hand, leaving on the 20th, there's no way we would see the car this month.

However, if the status will be updated in the next few days, then it seems possible it would be leaving Mexico soon and arriving on the 20th (but that's definitely not what they said)??

Who knows, I will report back when I hear more. Figured I'd share in the meantime.

Maybe he meant scheduled to leave the East Coast port (via truck) on the 20th? I'm sure he wouldn't say the part about seeing it this month if that was the ship load date @ Veracruz since you add another 10 days to get to Baltimore or more for NYPOA, but you never know.

Hoping you see it before that, though!

The September builds coping group has to stick together, here!

Hi everyone, week 43 build here. Chat with my CA yesterday about my car , as well as called Genius. Car was marked as RFT 10/31. Brunswick delivery. No updates from Genius and CA shared they had no updates beyond what I could see. Said something about December delivery after being quoted up to 10 week wait but was told to anticipate January. Sounds like they know something we don’t and there are huge backups at these ports for us East Coast people. I know based off of reading I can expect a mid-late December delivery if I’m lucky, but living vicariously through your status updates and am hopeful my car gets on that speculated Altamira overflow lot 😆

I hope he is wrong and we are on the sunrise. This is just outrageous. The mere fact that we know more than “genius” is astounding. This is supposed to be a multi billionaire dollar corporation and the supply chain is run like elementary school kids with a lemonade stand. The mere fact that they have no information on projected or estimated ship date is concerning considering that the ships provide a fairly firm schedule. The BMW customer service is terrible and I’m probably going to think long and hard before ordering another vehicle from them.

^ This 100%. It's sad.

When I dropped ~150K on cars I had a different expectation on experience.
