I'm on Metis Leader, and BMW Genius just said that this carrier is expected to arrive at the US Port on 12/12.

Sounds like Christmas might come early!

It's probably early this year. LB wanted 5K to 10K over. Later in the year, I was asked if I was still interested in M2 because the market price was changed.

That’s odd. I had 0 relationship with them and just told them “I’ll order right now for Msrp” and it was an automatic yes.

Thanks. my CA just called me and it will arrive at the dealer on Wed/Thurs. and it should be ready for pick up by Friday. I need to figure out how I can make the next 72 hours go fast.

By the way, what tires were on your car? I am hoping for PS4S.

I'm buying my M2 from there as well and have been debating selling my F87 through Carvana to avoid haggling on purchase day. That's what I've done in the past and it just makes things so much easier and less stressful.

Did they give you a trade in value you were happy with?
No, I sold it to another smaller dealer because they offered higher than any franchised dealer would

It was a 10/22. I wasn’t asking for special treatment or a car right away. I was happy to wait but they refused to even put me on a list without “a mutual understanding of the market adjustment for this vehicle.” This came from Robert Behr, Jason Warren, Robert Tarkhanyan, and Robert Lee.

Man, sorry you had a crap experience. I called them in early November and didn't speak with any of those folks, luckily.

Second this comment.

MSRP is widely available in Southern California if you are willing to wait for a dealer to place an order for one. It took me a bit under 8 weeks to get mine delivered. I took delivery of my M2 today.

Also, its pretty easy to get a BMW corporate rebate on new BMWs. I attended a free BMW Experiences autocross event in San Diego last month and the very next day I received an email with a rebate for $1,000 off the purchase of a new BMW. The fine print said that it would not apply to custom ordered cars and only apply to dealer stock. But my dealership had no problem trying to apply it and it worked. So that actually secured me a price under MSRP.

The rebate was in the form of an "OL" code. The BMW dealers are familiar with these and can apply them even after you reach a negotiated price on the vehicle. BMW corporate makes them whole for this additional rebate.

I hope that information is helpful to anyone that is purchasing a BMW soon.

Maybe it's time for me to go to those EV events they have every so often...

Also, third this comment. I knew a friend who asked Irvine BMW for quotes on G87s and they offered him MSRP. He had 0 relationship with them I believe

I just checked on Metis Leader on MarineTraffic, seems it's going to make a pit stop in Long Beach before heading over to Port Hueneme. Strangely, I couldn't find the schedule on the NYKRORO website which is where I checked the schedule for the boat my car was on (Heritage Leader).

I'd expect your boat to reach Port Hueneme by December 14th, which is this Thursday

The LB pit stop is standard. I wish they’d just shimmy the car on down to LB BMW from there lol.

What port installed options did you do? Mine was delayed at VPC for about 2 weeks due to waiting for parts on my HAS install. But that is really a one off as another member here on my same boat only had a 3 day delay at VPC for his HAS. Must have just gotten to his car first and used up the inventory

Lol same, I don't even know what they did at the VPC, my car left within the same day of arriving at the port and we had to unlock transport mode at the dealer, which I thought they did before delivering it to the dealers

Better than mine- I was stuck in VPC for 10 days with no port installs. Nothing was wrong either, it was just sitting waiting for delivery.

Metis Leader has been chilling in Port of Long Beach for a couple days.

What's the next step? Are they unloading cars here, or do the cars not get unloaded until Port Hueneme?

What's the rough estimate of days until being able to pick up the car at this point?

I'm not in a super-rush because I'm still waiting to receive a replacement title for my F87. I can't seem to find the damn thing.

They probably unload other company vehicles or random cargo- all BMW for west coast is done in PH. So your M2 should be strapped in chilling until they get to PH.

Estimating time here- rough guess is after dock + unload + VPC + transport you’ll probably end up getting it around Christmas or right after.

Yeah, purchasing experience in Nov 2023 is extremely different that Nov 2022. Back then I called over 10 dealers in the Los Angeles region and only one was putting you on the list at MSRP. All other dealers were anywhere form $5-20k over MSRP. The wait period was also unknowns since allocations were limited and started to come in later in 2023.
