Hi guys I'm pretty new to here. My build date is 10/25 which is build week 43.

The good news is on tracking, I'm finnally in status 165 today.

But my dealership is in Ohio, I don't know how BMW is going to transport my car lol. Is it gonna be via ship or railway?

Ship to east coast, then truck. Not sure if there is a train segment to Ohio, as well.

Last time I talked to my CA a couple weeks ago, he said my port of exit would be Altamira. He talked to their distribution contact at BMW corporate and was informed that they have been in the process of moving their main exit port in Mexico (I presume from Veracruz to Altamira). It's a fairly recent change and is the reason he was given for the delays as the process hasn't been smooth. Beyond that, this contact wasn't able to make any concrete predictions for timelines as he said that dealing with the team in Mexico has been frustrating.

My dealership is also waiting on 3 other sold cars with prod dates around mine, in addition to another 10 or so for the lot. I had a 9/15 prod date and 9/29 RFT (1 day too late to miss the last East Coast ship)

I was out at SEMA this past week which helped keep my mind off the waiting game a little bit, but I was hoping to return home and have seen more progress with this nonsense. Appreciate all the tracking work you all have been posting to this thread!

I'm pretty sure that VesselFinder just uses the next destination of the ship to also populate the Expected At Port list. In other words, it doesn't really know the schedule. So if the Sunrise didn't update its next destination, then it won't show up at Altamira as Expected.

On Nov 1, Glovis Sunrise showed up on this Mexican schedule (in Spanish) for Altamira. The arrival date is wrong, most likely because of the delay at Veracruz, but the ship wasn't on the list prior to Nov 1.

I’m pretty much right there with you bud lol. 9/14 prod date and 9/29 RFT. Also waiting on a 3 series (330i) and port of entry is Baltimore, which I would guess is yours since you’re in Chicago.

The Sunrise must really be loading up pretty good. 2 carriers got in after the sunrise and departed already (global leader and Eurasian hwy) so it can’t be long now before they depart.

Balt is the point of entry for Chicago / Midwest.

I am again losing hope haha...and to think Sunrise has to go to Altamira before heading to the US . I was really hoping to get it before thanksgiving but I think thats out the window right now...My dad would have loved to see the car. He loved the supra and had a 2001 330i back in the day but never got the M3 he always wanted. (No idea why, he has a A4 now)

Didn't want to post it yesterday, cause all the bad information, but I was told they expect my status to update within 10 days and CA said they would follow during the week again hoping with news its in transit.

I believe it's the highest volume BMW franchise in the midwest (I'm positive largest in the 5 state north; MN, WI, IA, ND, SD) so maybe they have some clout and were able to get additional info.

Nonetheless I didn't post it because I don't want anyone to get hopes up based on what I'm being told. I still have a hard time trusting any positives at this point with all the BS we've been fed.

Yeah at this point in time I’m going to assume my car is on the sunrise and will confirm after it leaves the port with my CA. We’ll see what happens in the coming day.

I'm hoping the 10 day timeframe was in anticipation that they don't update until closer to destination port. I'm not going to get too concerned unless none of us receive news by the end of the week.

Yeah honestly I'm not sure. I'm inclined to believe most of us are in Veracruz since historically I think they've used it more. But clearly they also use Altamira as shown by the guys that were on the Glovis Cardinal.

Well my car is going to Brunswick for pcd delivery and it still says RFT

Toronto is in port at Veracruz headed to Galveston, Altamira and Brunswick. I'm really hoping I get on this one for Galveston

I would think that the cars that didn't ship with the Cardinal are in Veracruz. It would make no sense for BMW to leave earlier produced cars sitting at port.
