Lol uhhh 6 speed is what makes this car special.
Now it will be DCT since manual is still offered in the G series and DCT will be more rare.

Whew, reading these G87 forums is exhausting! lol But I am acutely interested in this topic, and it is interesting in the "range" of opinions I've read. To each their own, I just hope it is as aesthetically good looking as my F87, but then again, your point of view depends on your point of view.

I'm betting the "M-Specific Headlights" might include double angel eyes, and perhaps, the slightly altered headlight lens shape from the supposed leaked photos supports this. This would further distinguish it from the lesser 2s.

As I mentioned, I have been reading as much as I can regarding the G87 M2. I currently have the 18' LCI M2 and as much as I love this car, quite honestly I have been bothered with several aspects that the OG 235/240 2 series was given a different power plant so very close to the performance of the M2, yet I continue to hear about M GmbH limiting the performance of the G87 to keep it under the M3/M4's! While those facts fester in my mind, and I am currently considering that again purchasing a new M2, but from what I have been reading, keeping the G87 "less" capable than the big brothers and sisters (M3 & M4) seems to be a major concern I have. I understand the reasoning, but BMW seems to contradict themselves so often. Now I read that the new M3 & M4 Competition versions do not have a manual! Then I read that here in the states, the G87 M2 Competition when available, will NOT be available with the a Manual transmission, in spite of the fact that F87's take rate on manuals was around 50% here in the states. If that is true, that there will be a dearth, actually absence of manuals of G87 M2C's, this may completely change my perspective of purchasing the G87. I have never myself owned/driven as my personal car, a car without a manual transmission. I was thinking that the G87 would be one of the last manuals mass produced and I have been looking forward to that while preparing myself for end of the ICE propulsion. I would encourage BMW M GmbH to rethink this decision, which could diminish the sales of the G87 M2C, IMHO.

It's from Auto Express, so no idea why he did that.

Also seems to confirm the bumper. I like it, and the black vents to fill the headlights in are a clever idea.

Is BMW running away from the chipmunk teeth in front? G87 looking good imo.

Coming into this thread late.

Overall the car isn't bad, but I really wish they'd dump these terrible mirrors. Just the worst of any generation of M car.

The mirrors suck. Honda Accord stick-on’s look better. What was bmw thinking to saturate the whole product lineup with these. Nothing iconic about them. So blah. I don’t mean to sound completely negative but the mirrors are one of the most important aspects of a vehicle because they’re generally eye level from anyone’s viewpoint, literally.

Porsche has been doing this same neutering stuff with the Cayman for years. With its superior chassis and balance, giving it 911 power numbers would be unwise for the company. It's the same for M2 vs M3/4. The former is more nimble and fun to drive. They can't step on the toes of big brother. In reality though, the S58 power figures won't be that much different between the G87 and G80/82 (unlike the N55 and S55 in the F87 M2s). I know it sucks spending even more money on a new car but, a simple tune of the G87 should get you to the promised land. Plus, you'll have a grille you can be proud of.

Those aren't mirrors. They're blank advertising billboards available for rent.
