Its a Porsche, even if the luxury vehicle market crashes, Porsche will not be affected. The demand (outweighing supply) will always be there.

Right. Porsche GT cars aren’t getting cheaper ever.

I'm seriously cross-shopping my M2 build. The more time it takes to get allocations the more I question my intent for the vehicle. Sporty small car with sunroof and luxo seats, or full carbon kit with exterior nonsense race car build.

Anyone else in this dilemma?

I went with the former, but I’ve had plenty of time to second-guess myself over the past few months.

No second thoughts here.

Not sure how your getting to that number the car I have spec'd is $65k.

I'm also at 65k, but that's without the carbon package, so with the carbon package (9.9k) we would roughly be at 75k, then taxes and fees would actually put us slightly over 80k.

With all boxes checked you can max your build to 78k. If you don't have the Carbon Pack you save 9900 off the top.

But either way, lots of folks will walk out of a dealership at 80k minus any ADM they agreed to pay. Also, there's a slew of BMW Performance Parts which can easily add another 15k to the car. I know the ones I'm planning on cost about 13k installed (roof spoiler, rear deck spoiler, HAS kit, and 963m wheels).

I am $69,000+ including their $995 (under $70k) and I have the CF options (including roof) but not the CF package (as I dont want the seats).

As stated, add on the Vossens (what I am leaning towards), rear deck spoiler, H&R lowering springs (they should be available at or near or just after the time of release), exhaust and some other whatnots, and I will be at...oh crap, I dont want to add all that up.

The only car I'm cross-shopping with this is another G82 6MT.

I've already looked at Porsche and I'm not super impressed. The only cars they offer that I feel will provide similar ownership satisfaction cost significantly more, and I still have issues with them (underpowered, boring looks, way too compromised, mediocre infotainment/tech, less convenient servicing options).

I was flirting with this idea, but the M4's rear quarter panel completely hides the flared wheel. However on the M3, it looks insanely nice to me. I guess the bottom line is the M4 has this very aggressive nose, but then sort of this bentley-esque/luxo-barge look over the back half that just doesn't scream: "that guy has a stick shift in the 21st century!".

You're right that the M3s rear quarters are more aggressive. On the other hand, to me a 4-door says family car while a coupe is sportier. Another thing to consider if you don't need the functionality of those extra doors.

My next will most likely be a Boxster S/GTS or M2. As others have alluded to, Porsche's snobbery has no limits nowadays. They want to charge arm and leg for these cars and are hesitant to give you an allocation unless you load it with useless options.

The M2 on the other hand, comes in well equipped about $65K, less than the avg mommy X5 mall crawler. There will probably be some dealer ADMs early on, but I'd imagine after a year those will go away.

Nope. I’m enjoying my F87 until my G87 arrives. I’m all in on BMW.

I’m still trying to find a new or lightly used G80. It’s prob more practical for occasional trips with young toddlers in chart seats.

Your family are troopers for an adventure. Having owned a 2009 135i, no one I knew liked the small back seats.

I had forgotten that I asked about the new Z a few months back and just got a message from a local dealer.
They want $15 ADM for the performance model which makes it $68k
Yeah, I'll stick with the M2 thanks.
