The front looks a lot better in BG. The car looks a lot better in darker colors and these indoor pics make BG look a bit darker. I'd still like to some professional pics of the car in BG outside in direct sunlight, because I think BG might look too light in color for my taste.
P.S. Car needs a drop, really really bad. |

Before LED we had incandescent DRLs which everyone hated because they were yellow in tint. I even replaced the bulbs with white colored ones on my cars, that's how much I hated them. Now that white LEDs are so prevalent everyone wants yellow again. I guess it's just human nature, have something for long enough and people will want change. I for one never liked them when they were incandescent and don't like yellow LEDs now, so I'd never get them. But that just my opinion, do whatever makes you happy and good thing you're in CA because I'd never see your car IRL.

Here's a walkaround outside in direct sunlight of a BG and TR G87.
Note: The guy that made this video hates the cars style and is vocal about it, then again this is the same person who thinks his Porsche 924 looks great which IMO is one of the ugliest Porsche's ever. |

My 0.02, The E36 was probably the worst gen of the 3-Series. Build quality and the interior materials used were utter garbage. Point of the story, bragging about how many E36s one has owned is not an amazing accomplishment as they can be had on the cheap for a reason. |

Of course, it might have been mostly a marketing gimmick but they did have posters spouting this claim.

One flaw and a rather large one at that. The U.S. market E36 M3 got the watered down S52 while the rest of the world got the amazing S50. |

My argument would be any 911 from the 997, 991, or 992 generation is “nice looking.” Prior to that Porsche has never done that much for me. I have never wanted to own one until the 992. |

Actually, the 95 E36 M3s had the S50B30 (US spec engine) and then the "watered down" S52 from 96-99... Like you said though, no match for the actually S50B30/B32 engine with the individual throttle bodies

Yep! But even the US E36/S52 was really good at the time. I remember test driving my first one, with a friend in the passenger seat, and we both yelled "feels like unlimited power!" at the same time. Amazing how these cars have evolved since then. The 1998 E36/4 (cosmos black) was my first M so some good memories. But I digress. Really looking forward to this M2.

I loved my first M car, a 1997 E36 M3 even though it had the US spec engine. It became one of my all time favorite track cars. Interesting video from Jason Cammisa of Hagerty. He makes some very good points on why the US version may be better.
