I like the Everyday Driver guys. They are nerdy but I find them more honest and unbiased compared to some other youtube reviewers. These days I feel it's just lazy to continually compare today's cars to cars of the past. We all know today's cars are heavier and more computer aided and we shouldn't need to be reminded everytime we watch a new car review. Just tell us if the car is fun and if the performance is up to today's expectations. I don't need to be told it lacks the "xxx" of the E46 as that car is not in production, nor is it relevant to what viewers tuned in to hear. We all know a modern car is going to drive and feel totally different to one that was manufactured 20 years ago so stop trying to remind us every time a new M car is launched.

The big problem with this test is it really is just a measure of off the line traction. With using a runway the middle position always has more deposited rubber and less debris (such as dust, rubber marbles and small stones) than the outer positions due to aircraft usage unless the surface has been hot-air blasted and scrubbed very recently (which is rare for anything other than major airports).
A re-run of the test swapping car positions across left, centre and right would at least give a bit more of a valid comparison. |

Sam Car Legion is the same guy who did a whole comparison review claiming the M340i is faster than the G80 Comp, then quietly deleted it when it was pointed out that he ran the M3 in low fuel mode (limited to 4000RPM). Not sure how Sam measured the M2 doing 0-60 faster than the Supra in that test. M2 gets to 60mph first, when it was clearly struggling for traction, then loses the lead at speed, when traction is no longer an issue? I have no doubt that the G87 6MT is faster than the Supra 6MT, but that guy has no credibility. |

So many of the replies here are embarrassing.
Guys, some people don’t like the M2 and that’s fine. It doesn’t make them “biased” or “idiots” and it’s so sweaty to cherry pick the positive reviews and retroactively declare those writers as the “objective” ones. Why even read reviews if you’re only looking to have your opinions validated? Not everyone is going to love our car. Hell, it might even be true that our car is not the best car around. As long as we like it, that’s all that matters. No need to attack the credibility of anyone that doesn’t share our opinion. |

Nissan/Infiniti seem to have lost their way. I owned a 2003 350z and loved it. It was a pretty nice car, performed great, nice to ride in and look at, sounded good etc. I wanted to upgrade to the G35 coupe for more of the GT-like creature comforts.
As for the Supra, it does have Toyota’s exterior design and I think their CEO is really trying, successfully, to get Toyota to be more performance oriented. But it’s still a BMW. I’m a somewhat short stature person and just didn’t feel like I fit very well in it, you can’t put the windows down while driving, I feel like it’s a somewhat compromised design so Toyota could get more onto the performance map. While the FRS is okay, it’s more like a Miata, handles good but somewhat underpowered. |
