That’s not the case here. And when a 6th Gen Camaro (SS 1LE), designed 8 years ago, costing $20K less, and with a manual transmission can run with new automatic M2 on the track (similar mods), well…

Make no mistake, I’d take the M2 over the Camaro any day of the week, but all these comments about the M2 being a “beast” and “game changer” comes with a friendly eye roll Now, if your end game is endless tunning and mods for high speed pulls, then disregard everything above.
I agree.

The "base price" for a 2023 BMW M2 is $8,500 more than a 2023 BMW M240i with Xdrive. I don't see the M2's performance numbers coaxing me to reach for my wallet. Maybe (?) if I tracked the car. But not as a daily.

The base price for a 2023 C8 Corvette Stingray 1LT is $65,900. That extra $2,700 for the Corvette gets you a 0 to 60 time in 2.9 seconds. Those price to performance numbers have my attention.

If the BMW M2 came with Xdrive and had 40-50 more horses than the M240i, then the price to performance numbers would get my attention. But not now.

Adding 10k in accessories to each above would get you a nicer car but the relative price to performance numbers would be the same.

I’d consider it as well, especially if the sub-3K RPM torque can be dialed up. Just wish I could keep my ‘22 dash.

However, iD8.5 does have a more elegant graphics package, much less XBox-looking, so that’s good. But that widescreen on kickstands still hasn’t grown on me!

I agree about the M2. More low-end torque. And add xdrive.

Although I too like the 2022 dash much better, I could live with the long dash screen if I could change the layout of the "video game look" of the speedometer and the tachometer to look like dial gages. The new 2024 Mustang GT also has a long dash screen but the driver can change the speedometer and the tachometer to look like "old-style" dial gages. And guess what? In every review I've seen, the reviewer comments on how cool the old-style gages look! Come on BMW get with it, it's an easy software change.

I also want the ability to monitor critical data on my screen like boost pressure, oil temp, coolant temp, and trans temp. The computer is already reading that data and it would be very easy for that info to be displayed at all times.

You can see boost pressure, oil temp and coolant temp when you have the sport display up

i think part of why i love the '22 is that its a combination of eras - tried and true engine and transmission and infotainment, but totally redone exterior. i'm sure i'll be stuck with some battery powered box in 5+ years and will need to get used to an ipad to control the thing, but as my last gas car, i love that the infotainment looks just like a normal, nice car of the last 10 years, and not some faux-future screen

i've just stared using navigation on iDrive 7 (carplay blows in terms of consistency), and it's actually great.. i love being able to send the destination to the car from the app

I’ve been very happy with the BMW navigation and use it almost exclusively. Sometimes I’ll run Waze in the background just for the police warnings.

The BMW navigation is better than Apple maps and google maps IMO. I use too as my default.

Street view would be cool, but since views of roofs don’t have much correlation to the view from the road, I find it too busy.
