I've been saying this for a while.

I was in the market for a new car when my F30 hit 60k miles. Happened to hit a curb and pop off the side skirt and that really motivated me to get a new car.

I'll never sell this car. BMW built exactly my idea of a perfect M car.

Interesting enough, I've made posts on here as well about BMW carrying the ethos of the e30, e36, and e46 M3 into this car. To me, the e92 (as much as I love that car) was a departure from that ethos and the f82 and g82 don't continue down that path. I think the 1M was way more of that ethos, and the G87 continues down that line.

I love this car.

The only thing kind of sad about the review is that you could see Chris Harris's disappointment with the community. How internet culture could allow people to disregard the fact of the situation. He was truly bewildered and a little confused!! lol! F 'em. I don't want everybody buying this car.

Great point! All of the F87 M2CS owners paid in excess of $90k for a car that is exceeded or matched in every metric by a base G87 M2 at a base MSRP of $63k. I still maintain that the joy of driving can be distilled into the category of “experiential” rather than pure spec. The F87 M2CS is a very special car 😀.

To be fair to Mark he has an X7 M50 and talked honestly about his experiences. The LC500 was a poor man’s LFA for him, I think. Regardless I have a ton of respect for SG technical expertise and well rounded opinions on various cars.

Urgh… what the hell do you think an F87 is, even with the N55 as the “nomenclature”?

So many people are either too stupid to admit or refuse to but the N55 M2 forged internals are also from the M3/4… as well as mostly everything else.

The M2 is BMW’s M-life regardless what you care to say about it. I’d prefer to focus on the specifics but wait, what’s this??

4. It looks great . . . from some angles. From others, it looks like a weird, fat-hipped cow. The front three-quarter view is killer—a snarly face, aggressive haunches, a low roof. But the M2 is based on the standard 2-series, which looks tall and narrow but also oddly fat in places (blame the stuffing of mid-size sedan components into a smaller frame). This car, lower than the standard 2, looks a tad saggy in the butt and rockers. The fat fenders help, as do the bumper covers. But don't stand behind it. Hell, just stay in the driver's seat. It looks great from there.

Just from an exterior visual perspective, the front and rear bumper are the "big" styling changes. Put the f87 bumpers on the G87 and 95/100 non-bmw enthusiasts would not be able to tell the cars apart from 20 feet.
