I wonder what position the xdrive m2 will be in BMWs lineup as there’s a lot of commonness amongst the lineup. Considering weight and all compared to the M4, the M2 xDrive seems like the option to go for, for a sporty ‘pocket rocket’ coupe from BMW
Is the M2 lighter than the M4? I don’t think so, or if it is it’s negligible.

Hmmm, that should surmise that the Xdrive adds 99 elbows.

Edit: Comparing apples to apples...8AT vs Xdrive

Even without the G87 M2CS or Xdrive, the G82 M4 has been the worst selling M car.

Yes! This comment applies to all the BMW guys who think power and 0-60 is the only measure of a great car. Guys like that could never appreciate an E30 M3 for example. That'd all be okay too, if they did shun the rest us and those "lesser" cars.

Salepeople/executives who want a sports car but have to also fit people into the back seat for the occasional working lunch?

Or someone who had to make a compromise with a spouse for those same rear seats. Tall kids or whatever.

Or even... people who are pure power track nutcases and want the marginal additional power and longer wheelbase of the M4?

I'm just sayin. There are reasons.

Dont see the point in complaining about added weight etc on this car. Its not like we are talking about an Alpine or Lotus etc.
BMW are not about lightweight fun cars anymore (that ship sailed long ago) & unfortunately if you want that your looking at the wrong brand, hell even my OG M2 is a barge. We are talking about a tank being replaced by a slighty heavier tank.
I also dont see the point in an M4 any more as they are basically the same car now aside from the M2 looking way better imo.

If you want an M convertible that isn't a land yacht (M8) then the M4 is your only choice.

I like the look of the M4 a lot more than the M2. Suppose we'll see if the M2 gets an LCI facelift but as it stands I'd rather have an M4 CS.

Follow any argument to its logical conclusion, and you will understand why. Actually, I'll venture so far as to say you will begin to see the world in a whole new light once you do so.

Not unless they bring the beaver bucktooth to the G87. Then, and only then, will there be mass-adoption. Ya can’t just add XDrive, ya gotta add it with the buckteeth.
