There's different brokers like fidelity, scottrade, Charles schwab. But for practice there's investopedia and they have a lot of very useful information on their site.

hey guys: there is a drug called aromasin. It helping cure for melanoma and some breast cancers. Looks very promising. We may get our lambos after all Angelin!
I searched google for a bit but could only find what it does. Shit should explode soon though. Hopefully they are public. Edit: the drug is made by Pfizer, Inc. If all goes well, the stock should explode to the moon. I will be monitoring. |

yes but now people think it is no longer a early stage treatment but a cure. http://www.clickondetroit.com/health...25/detail.html
there are more articles but its late and I have to sleep " Breast-Cancer A drug already approved for treatment of breast cancer...may prevent the disease as well. A study says the hormone-blocking drug, Aromasin, reduced the risk by 65-percent." Chicago (CNN) -- Doctors and patients have a new tool to prevent breast cancer: A drug that is already approved for the treatment of the disease. Women who are at high risk for breast cancer that is fueled by the hormone estrogen could reduce their risk of getting cancer by taking the hormone-blocking drug Aromasin, according to a study presented at a conference in Chicago on Saturday. "We proved that exemestane (Aromasin) reduced the risk of invasive breast cancer by 65%," said lead author Dr. Paul Goss, who is a breast cancer specialist at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital. Goss presented his research at the annual conference of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. The study has also been published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Aromasin is one of three drugs in the class of drugs called aromatase inhibitors, which block the production of estrogen in postmenopausal women. Two other estrogen-blocking drugs exist, but few women use them to prevent breast cancer because there are rare but serious possible side effects, such as an increased risk of uterine cancer and blood clots. Previous studies showed that cancer drug tamoxifen reduced the risk of getting breast cancer in older women by 50% and osteoporosis drug raloxifene reduced the risk by 38% after five years of taking the drugs. Exemestane, better known under the brand name Aromasin. was found to have fewer side effects than tamoxifen, according to Goss. His study enrolled 4,560 healthy postmenopausal women at high risk for breast cancer in a placebo-controlled, double-blinded clinical trial. The 65% risk reduction was found after women had been taking the drugs for only three years. The study continues. "This is the first study to show that a new class of drugs, aromatase inhibitors, have the ability to prevent breast cancer in high-risk women," said Dr. Jennifer Litton, who is a breast cancer specialist at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and is not connected to this research. Litton says she prescribes tamoxifen a lot in her practice and believes it's a very good and very affordable drug. But when she tells women about the possible side effects like uterine cancer, "it definitely scares women away, even though the incidence of these side effects is really rare." She hopes more women in the high-risk category will now be open to taking a cancer-preventing drug like Aromasin. Dr. Jose Baselga is the associate director of Massachusetts General's Cancer Center, but did not participate in the research. He says the study is very good but cautions that the side effects of Aromasin should not be ignored. "Aromatase inhibitors do have side effects and they are significant," Baselga said. Women can have hot flashes, get arthritis and suffer bone loss from taking the drugs, which can have a big impact on a woman's quality of life, especially for someone who doesn't actually have cancer, he said. He also pointed out that 94 women were treated with this drug and did not benefit before one woman was prevented from getting breast cancer. So when it comes to prescribing Aromasin, "I would limit it to patients who have very high risks" for getting breast cancer, Baselga said. According to the study, women taking Aromasin had no serious toxic effects and only "minimal changes in health-related quality of life." Women are considered to be at high risk for breast cancer if they are older than 60, postmenopausal and/or have had abnormal breast biopsies in which there are some lesions. All the experts agree that women need to talk to their doctor to fully understand the risks and benefits of taking these drugs to prevent getting breast cancer. Pfizer, the maker of Aromasin, announced in May that the U.S. patent for this drug had expired, making it eligible for generic drug manufacturers to produce and sell it. no idiot name calling be nice noobcake Last edited by E92TTKING; 06-05-2011 at 11:22 PM.. |

Be very careful about these drug stocks. many are supposed to explode if they get FDA approval but if they do not get FDA approval your balance also explodes to nothing so be careful. I have been there and gone through many of those supposedly breast cancer cures or some other new magic drug on the market. Everything is possible but be careful with those. |

TRE took a major beating last week and had a nice bounce today. If the rumor is true then this could be a pump and dump thing but if the rumor turns out to be false then this stock is going to have one hell of a bounce this week.

Cisco and Juniper have taken harsh beatings this quarter. (They're communications providers btw) I'm thinking people that bought their puts are swimming in my cash now... CSCO is now trading at $15.99. Juniper fell 3% today too.

If you want to make money, dont buy SLV or AGQ...SLV had a classic blow off top for now...will take a long time to repair the damage of the past month...doesnt look like consolidation to me...I like ZSL, which is double short silver...wait til silver has a few good days and then go short.
The charts say this isnt going to be a 5-10% selloff and then rally...am I saying the bull mkt over?...not at all...thinking short term and int term for now. BTW, banking on Aromasin is crazy...those drugs has been around for many yrs and already FDA approved...there are others in same class already out in the mkt...you can only get 10 baggers from small co's without FDA approval....the large companies who get drugs approved dont move up much at all...if you dont understand medicine and science and the stock mkt in general, you should avoid bio's like the plague. |

^^^ Yep. I'm focused on precious metals and tech companies because I know the economy, politics, tech and science.
SIRI is down a lot recently after a big rally. It went up over 20% in a month and since its highs has fallen by about 16%. Would not go chasing it at the moment but if it dips under $2.05 definitely go in. They don't have much competition either and satellite radio is very popular. Apple is down today too and seems like a good buy this week. Steve Jobs will be releasing/advertising their new operating system, Cloud, this week so that may cause it to jump a percent or too. |

I picked up some Apple and SPY calls earlier on today. Fingers crossed with those calls. Hope good old Bernanke does not say anything bad when he gives his speech this afternoon to kill this bounce today.

Apple is great to buy on dips. I don't have any money though. Only about $7k in cash. But on margin I have a lot. What happens when I buy on margin? Does my broker, fidelity, lend me the money and then take interest or commission off of any profits? Or what happens if I spend their money on something that's losing money?
