New BBQ, nothing wrong with the 2002 Weber that the only thing I've done to it was new flavour bars in the spring.
But need it something new to go with the new siding ![]() ![]() ![]() |

After 4 years, it finally fucking got me. Right before a weekend trip to kick off college football season, with non-refundable prepaid hotel and tailgate tickets.

I’ve had four times, always very mild with no real fever. Only lost taste for a couple days one of those times.

The crazy thing is I spent hours in a car earlier this month with my step mother who tested positive the next day. I never had a symptom or positive test after that. My wife had it in late June when I was in Asheville with the dogs so she is *probably* safe from getting again (but we'll take some precautions anyway). I think this came from someone here in FL, but of course no way to ever know.

Was out in California in July (surprised I didn’t get it again) and several friends got it. A doctor I spoke with there said the new variant is very mild and that many may get it without realizing it, just sniffles or less.

We caught that new variant in Sandy Eggo when we were there at the end of June. Wifey had cold symptoms for a few days, but nothing debilitating. I was sick as a dog for one day and felt lousy the second day, but after that I was just tired. Wifey and I both had the fatigue bit for another week so. It was weird feeling relatively ok until you got up to do something and the fatigue would hit you. Both of us recovered with no lingering issues, though.

I have only had Covid once (at least that I know of) but it was in Pakistan about 2 years ago, figured it was food poisoning, next day it was getting worse, was time for flight out, considered options for staying in Pakistan & left (pretty dangerous place to be). One issue was I was headed to India for next work stop, laughed a little thinking getting sick & making it to India was actually a good thing.
While I had been vaccinated it was a new variant, I got really sick & stayed in the hotel room for 5 days, rarely ate but it was room service when I did. Front desk would call every couple of days to see what was going on ("Do Not Disturb" sign). I was afraid to tell them I had Covid as they might have wanted me to leave. Got to the point I considered going to hospital but all worked out. Then flew to Thailand where we had a plant & I spent about 1/3 of my time for about 5 years, worked for 2 days, got sick again, this time it was food poisoning, doctor said probably from immune system being down. Cool thing about Thai system was I went to a private hospital, saw a specialist an hour after I got there, visit plus 3 prescriptions & bill was about $65 USD. Eventually flew home. No longer do this but it was a good 5 years, saw tons of countries (but mostly work), things normally went ok, lots of stories.

It’s been years since I’ve played any video games. Just picked up a 65” LG OLED and Xbox Series X for the office.

Do you have any specs on the tv and xbox? How much did each cost you? I have an old sharp LED 50in tv in my home office that is making it's way out and I am looking to replace it with a 55in or 60in. I currently have my Super Nintendo hooked up to the tv with Nintendo Switch in the basement connected to the 75in tv so my daughter and I can play Mario Kart. I am looking at either getting the first gen Xbox because I loved playing the game "The Suffering" on it but I don't think I am able to play that game on newer Xboxs. Or.. Do I just get VR and have the VR down in the basement as well to play with my daughter... Or... Do both...hmmm, maybe. lol

Look into the backward compatibility for the Xbox. I haven’t had any issues with some of my really old games. Just make sure you get one with the disc drive. It’s Blu-ray, so totally worth it if you’ve got a nice TV, plus you can play your old games. Still need to get a media console, some I’m in temp mode for now. Looking for a sim racing setup I can use with some gear but also play non racing games with. Hung up a couple old guitars (Fender Telecaster my dad refinished for me a couple decades ago and a 1969 Gibson SG with a ton of miles on it). The “office” is coming together. |

While it still working, after 3 pumps, 3 covers, 2 top side panels, 1 Control board and in need of the 4th cover, it was time to replace the old one (2007).
Old one is free for the pickup. |

It was very mild and I am nearly 100% now. A little minor congestion remaining. Turned out to be like a minor cold.
