I actually like the more clean understated design of this front bumper, instead of an overly aggressive overstyled one with too many lines and creases.

Personally don't see any issues with the front end, it looks simple and functional - certainly not polarising by any means.
Some folks are never happy with any design BMW come out with these days, first it was the big grille of the G8x and when bmw give the baby M a 'normal' grille then it's everything else with the front facia and at this stage the final product hasn't even been seen yet. Some ppl just can't stop whinging I guess |

I am extremely hopeful but what I am seeing in these leaks is somewhat frightening The leaked front bumper is absolutely boring I hope the finished product looks much much better

I haven't liked pretty much anything BMW has released in the past 10 years—-BUT I liked the G42 and I like these spy shots. They are going much more old school with it which is so great!
I just hope they can keep the weight down, and hope they stick with a manual.

The F87 M2 looks fantastic in all iterations. I don't think this looks bad but I don't understand the need to make design changes just for the sake of being different.

I would bet that the hood will look very similar to the one of the new M3/M4. This grill looks like the one of the M3/M4 but without the lower part. The lines of the grill should this be in continuity with those of the hood, as for the M3/M4. My guess is that the original design was similar to the one of the G80/G82, and they just removed the lower part of the grill because of the overwhelming negative comments. So on the M240i, you now have a power dome, and on the G87 you’ll have lines. I can’t say I’m happy with this hypothesis, but it seems likely to me.

Looks like i was wrong about the leaked bumper pic from China being fake.Hopefully the final design will look better with this bumper because i still don’t like the look of it in the leaked pics.

Meh, I'm not offended nor excited.
I went in with low expectations because for my personal tastes the F87 is the perfect blend of aggressive styling while still maintaining a clean and classy BMW look. I still look at her every time I walk away. So I think no matter what the G87 looks like, I wouldn't find it as attractive. That said, as long as this car is a blast to drive, I'll be in line for one. I like the overall look of the M240 so I expect I'll like the look of the G87 as well…just not as much as my F87. But like I said, I dont think BMW could have topped it for me.

I will hold judgement for the big picture but the grill is reasonably sized and even the horizontal slats do not look too bad. The M2 still in the running for the next purchase.

The federal entitlement hand outs end in September, hopefully, the market cools down. I for one have paying for hundreds of these entitlement hand outs:

I'm guessing the only folks buying these will be leasers that need something to tide them over until we swing out of this current design trend. Last edited by omasou; 07-23-2021 at 01:30 PM.. |

Shame if the grill even remotely looks like the leaked image. Feel really bad for the folks that waited for the G87 and S58 b/c it looks like this one too is getting a wack by BMW ugly stick.
Thankfully, I live by the quote from a friend, "see it, like it, buy it". |
