Is the Georgia VPC where PCD cars roll in? I never cared before, but then again, I’ve never been this excited for a new car.

Yes, typically the Brunswick VPC unless Brunswick is overloaded which happens more often than not these days. Edit, Once a vehicle is delivered to the PCD it sits out back, uncovered in the location below. As they approach closer to the delivery date they are generally in the area in the top left. Week 19, allocation received yesterday. Question on delivery timing. I will be traveling internationally starting Week 22 and coming back on Week 25. The car should not be delivered before Week 22 (i.e. within three weeks of production), right? I would hate to take delivery and then let the car sit for a month...

Production Begins - 2-13 Vin number came in around 3-2 or 3-3 Entered final assembly 3-24 And then they have to get it in a ship, off a ship and to my dealership. Obviously, your mileage may vary. |

So my week 15 build is actually a week 13 build. Logged in for my daily maybe-they-are-building-my-car check, and in fact, they are! Have a VIN # and everything. So everyone, keep in mind, these dates and schedules...none of them are written in pen, and it is quite possible I give back all of the time waiting for a boat. But for now...all is good!
EDIT: OK, so I sort of take it back. Looked at the Chrome inspect page data and can now see that the production date is listed as April 13, so it is a week 15. Weird it would day start of production when it is still 2 weeks away, but it is progress.

Mine moved to “production begins” which is status 150, correct? I know this has been asked several times and I’m a noob at searching but you can still order port installed parts after status 150 since it’s not done at the factory right? I’m still mulling over those CF air inlets (90% sure I’m getting them). I think the little extra money to have them installed is worth it considering pieces of the existing air inlets will have to be cut in order for the CF inlets to fit.

I must have missed this. Port Charleston is primarily used to export production from BMW Plant Spartanburg. 70% of Plant Spartanburg’s production is exported. EIGHT YEARS IN A ROW: BMW MANUFACTURING IS LARGEST AUTOMOTIVE EXPORTER IN THE UNITED STATES. https://www.bmwgroup-werke.com/spart...ed-States.html Last edited by T_U_D; 03-28-2023 at 02:42 PM.. |

Well, the car that I specced had it's final assembly/Quality Check, yesterday with the Est Production date of today. So that's cool. The BMW app says "Nearly Yours." I was hoping it would have details on where the car is but oh well.
