most importantly you're ok
having said that, i would push hard for a total if possible. Its not impossible, but getting the car back to the way it was will be difficult. keep in mind the resale value of the car is now also been diminished, and you can't sue the deer for a diminished value claim lol.

My friend, did you not also wait forever for your hea model at Port? That was you, right? What an adventure it's been for you man. I'm rooting for a quick and easy repair, or a quick allocation for you. Damn

Glad you’re okay. I’ve never had a deer run into my side of the car but straight into the front and one jumped onto the hood. Either experience was not great.

Glad you are ok!
Damage looks exactly the kind that some average 300k followers Youtuber will buy for cheap and views will pay for restoration.

That is normally my thought. I have killed many animals that way. My brain reacted different with 3 of them all doing different things. Not much I can do about it.

Don’t beat yourself up. Obviously you made the right decision here because you aren’t hurt. Our brains work very quickly in a situation like this, and you made the least damaging decision.

If the insurance company does total it, how does it work with a car like this? Typically a brand new car depreciates a decent amount the second it becomes a used car so if it gets totaled soon after that, the payout is usually lower than what you paid. But for a car like this that just came out and is hard to get/in high demand, you could sell a lightly used one for MSRP. Does the insurance company factor that in when valuing the payout?

I don't know, that's part of a point someone made earlier, don't settle with them. I'll explore all options, including potentially taking the damage payout and selling the car to someone else as is. The options as I see them are; 1) Repair. 2) Take repair funds and sell the car as is. 3) Insurance totals it, then I have to fight to not let them depreciate it too much. A lot to think about but it all depends on insurance at this point.

Having almost lost a car due to a pheasant crossing a motorway. Definitely avoid swerving at high speed. Only issue with deer and moose is that they can flip up and crush the passenger cell. And the driver. My Finnish colleague always used to warn about this and hence bull bars etc
