Is it safe to say that G42 production has been halted this month while they roll out the ID8 update? I haven't really heard of anyone's build completing production beyond April 27th.

Possibly?… I'm still in order received status as of this morning. But I heard from Genius that 2023 production will begin late June.. so that's a long time from now.

Press release states idrive 8 will be standard starting July. Also there will be a RWD version if I read it correctly.

Production definitely looks like its been halted this month but I don't think it's for the ID8 update. Maybe more like just certain parts. From what I've been reading 2023 won't start for another couple months?? There are some of us here with early June production weeks and in 112 order received, me being one of them. So we'll see in a couple of weeks if we get our vin numbers or it gets delayed again into 2023.

there is so much uncertainty now with these production dates timelines . I also read that every year, normally for BMW week 28 (which is 2nd week in July ? ) is the last production week for that current year's models and I also read that after the last 2022 model is produced factory goes into a 2 week pause to change and readying all the production lines and machinery for the assembly of the next year's models.

If these are all true maybe we are looking at the first MY 2023 being produced starting in the last week of July?

But again yeah, until the last week of July there is still so much time ahead and I dont believe the plant will produce no car for at least 2 whole next months?

Week 23 production, I've been starting at this since 4/30 when I spec'd the car. I know a lot of guys on the week 23 production schedule are sweating, myself included. Anyone with week 19-22 builds have any updates lately?

Yesterday I was week 22, today I am week 24

Honestly, my sales guy is kind of a knob. He never answers my texts and has only ever called me back once. Genius said I was still slated for week 23 production when I spoke to them on Friday, but I haven't heard anything else from my sales rep at the dealer.

The real pain in the ass is I want the M-Performance CF Interior Trim Package and it was available when I spec'd it, but I was told we can add and remove port installed accessories until basically the car arrives at port, so I could sleep on it. A few days later I decided I wanted to add it and he said it wasn't available anymore. That was on 5/4, and that was the last time I heard from my sales guy.

Week 20, been in production begins for two weeks now, genius claims Im still slated for 5/23 completion date. Hoping I get on a boat to CA sooner than later once it's done.

I legit had a dream BMW let me pick the car up in MX last night and drive it home to CO so I could break it in. I might be a little obsessed.

Was week 20, the bumped to 18, and then back to no production week.

My CA is still saying it could be built as a 2022, he also confirmed the switch over will be around July. Who knows…

I ordered on 2/3. My dealer had a week 8 allocation.

Then it was pushed out to week 14, now week 23.
It's not like I get pushed out a couple weeks either. 1st time 6 weeks then 9 weeks. I feel like if it gets pushed out again I'm going into 2023.

I have a Sunday 22nd Production start date so I don't think there is a halt.
Depending on the region. Australia is still showing the old ID7 spec on there website and the new new 3 range is information only no config page so we must be a few months away before pre-orders kick in

You can look for RO-RO on the Altamira schedule. Hard telling which ship they would put it on though. I don't see any Hyundai Glovis ships, which is what a lot cars here have been on. Not sure if Genius can tell you the ship name before it's on there.

I was worried with not many cars coming out that they might delay shipping until they can ship more cars in bulk, but who knows. My car was 11 days from "Ready for Transport" to "In Transit" on a ship.

I too am waiting on shipper.. and like you ship probably from Altamira to Galveston.. can't figure out which ship it is yet, though

If your car was dropped off in Newark by RCC Africa yesterday, have you received any notification that it is headed to the dealership? Trying to get a better idea of wait times and set expectations.
