Must have been quite a performance by him there at that LA concert; I looked him up was born in Indiana and still lives in that state rather than moving to the Hollywood area as some of them do.

Saw him with a friend who was from Indiana. His family was visiting and we all went together.

No, had already moved away but lived within driving distance. Now I live even farther away but could still drive there in a couple hours.

My friend Dave talked me in to going to the concert. It wasn't hard to do. John Cougar Mellencamp was at the height of his career. Think it was called The Scarecrow Tour.

PS - looked it up. I'm wrong. Was called Lonesome Jubilee Tour. Was a long time ago.

Ah ok, LA is big I must say, I was on holiday there some years back staying in Santa Monica on the beach front a stones throw from that grassland where Harrison Ford crash landed his yellow vintage plane when it stalled, that guy sure likes danger mixed with excitement.

Many years ago when my daughter was going to UCLA I used to go out and visit her on Wednesdays and we would go to Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade and see a movie and have dinner, was a lot of fun.
