Was only last fifteen or twenty minutes it was announced. I don’t know if it means he starts last on the sprint, or last or pit lane for the main event. But whatever it is, between that and having to use the non cheating wing, he is hurting from this one.

It certainly won't set him up for success, but I think there are going to be a litany of other questions posted after this. Has he cheated before? Is there proof he is aware? Was it a fluke?

…and that's about wraps up the WDC. Barring some catastrophic start, RB/VER will get the points they need to pretty much wrap up the title this year.

Weird season to end this era of F1. We will see what happens next year - will Mercedes' decision to focus more on the new car/regulations this year pay off?

FIA stated the same design has been tested many times during the season and uniformly passed. Further, the FIA has examined the design of the area of the car in question and are satisfied that the design meets the intent of the regulation.

Sounds like with the 10 newton force (which isn't in the regulations but in a technical directive), the wing passes in the center, but not the ends. The ends pass without the 10 newton force applied.

I think it's a fluke and they acknowledge that:

"There is therefore no question in the minds of the stewards that the test failure indicates any intent to exceed the maximum dimension either by action or design."

They'll start on the grid tomorrow from the positions they finish the sprint race and wherever HAM finishes he will be moved down 5 places.

Interesting that Merc elected not to open Ham’s replacement wing at any point in P2. Lot of things can be read into that... or absolutely nothing at all. Personally I would think they would want to deploy it to verify correct operation of the new part at least once or twice during the session. If the new part is within spec I see no reason not to at least give it a check on track. Maybe they know its not?

Horner , Marko and MAX were already aware of HAM's cheating DRS from before the FP sessions ..

They could have waited with the video evidence at Qatar , a Mercedes track ..
Red Bull had a mountain of video evidence !
That could have hurt Mercedes even more at Qatar . Because that could have deleted HAM's race results from Brazil as well..
Of course , the problem was to keep it quiet ..

On the other hand : This weekend MAX can score more points with the pole in the sprint race + in the race .
