Do you know if the production date is with port options in mind? Or is the production date its own time frame?

I just placed an order for voodoo with no port options and I'm trying to gauge the timeframe.

The production date is the week the car is built at the factory.

Transportation and port options are after that and not factored in.

I just received an email from my sales representative that my 2025 M2 is on a ship called the Neptune Barcelona that sailed out of Mexico two days ago. It's supposed to arrive in Tampa, Florida tonight. I don't know if they'll unload it there or if they'll leave it on the ship and will sail the ship around to Savannah, Georgia or Jacksonville, Florida to unload my M2. If anyone knows, please let me know.

So, while this is obviously good news for me, it's also good news that the 2025 M2's are on the way to the dealerships.

I asked genius about my purple m2 again and this was the response today. 2 weeks ago they told me mid September start date

That is good news. May be the first load of 2025 G87s headed to east coast USA. I've been using this site to see the ship schedule, but not sure how to find ships that already sailed. I've been at Ready for Transport status for almost 2 weeks. It looks like it may go to NY, then Baltimore, then Brunswick GA.

I was hoping to be on the Aug 30 ship, but wonder if mine is already on the Neptune ship? Have to call the genius at the dealership!

Congrats on yours!

Just confirmed with the genius at my dealership that my build was completed on Aug 8 and has been at the port waiting for ship assignment since Aug 14. He said the assignment typically takes 2 weeks, but it depends on how many cars they have ready to go. He confirmed mine is not on the Neptune Barcelona but could be on the next ship out Aug 30.

Same. Does anyone know if there were any Individual color cars scheduled to be built in Sept? I believe there is only one week per month that will be Individual paint builds.

Man I think I just got super lucky.

I went in last Monday to order a new M2 after mine was lost in a massive flood. My dealer had no allocations, so I didn't leave a deposit.

Went back on Saturday after thinking about it and just deciding to leave the deposit and get an allocation when it became available. I would have been next on the list anyway.

Well much to my surprise, they got an allocation, it had a production number, and it wasn't assigned to a customer.

Put the order in and left with my VIR.

I called genius today, I have a week 41 production date.

Skyscraper gray, carbon package, basically every option and 8 port installed accessories.

I'd like to! Although having built one before, now I know how to spend my money more effectively, so I can go single turbo and still be about $20k less than I spent on the one that just got flooded out.

Unfortunately I don't know if that's going to happen, at least this year.

Since swapping all I've heard from my sales guy was that the order is confirmed, not scheduled.

I'm guessing 2025 at this point lel
Do you have a production date scheduled yet? If so when is it?

Oh, I thought genius would only be able to give an accurate production date when your car has a production date scheduled.

My '25 M2 auto, Vegas red, carbon roof, shadow line, lighting package, Alcantara steering wheel with heat and remote start will be built the first week of September and its not modifiable at this point and should be delivered by the end of September/early October. Some personal issues have come up, so I'd rather not take the car at this point if I can help it. If anyone wants this build, PM me and I'll have it transferred to you.

My understanding is there is a stop sale on 25’s probably due to software or something alike so you’re car is coming but there is a delay in ownership if that makes sense but whatever it is will be resolved at some point undoubtedly

Maybe Tag has more info on this

This is all I found on it https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/08/27/b...-system-fault/

The article claims it’s a brake issue and names the 2 series “active tourer” as an affected model but not the M2 specifically.

I don’t think that original recall ever affected any G87s.

Also, this seems to say that the recall’s new parts replacements have now been found to be defective. Sucks for those folks. Yikes.

Brake by wire - what could go wrong?

The only M’s on the list provided to bmwblog by BMW NA are the X5M, X6M and X”M”. If the G87 was affected I’d expect to see the G80 and G82 on that list as well but I guess we’ll find out eventually.

Anyone with a MY25 vin should be able to search recall info online to confirm.
