Don’t forget base 2025 got a fairly significant power bump (auto certainly) further broadening the gap between G87 and F87CS.
Also throttle map tweaks and whatever else they haven’t told us.

the story i have heard through my CA and posts here is that G8X cars will retain manual transmission options until end of life. would love to know if thats not true because it would definitely affect my planning.

Even if the CEO of BMW (Zipse) promised this tomorrow, I wouldn't bet on it. He could get fired, things can change. Edit: FWIW, I like you hope they keep the MT until the last model year, and if they do I may buy one. |

Agree something else has to be in store…F87 came at the end of the production run as a final send off, so this is quite different and stoked my fear of BMW making this a less limited production run, which would def make it less special. I hope they don’t do that and preserve the brand value of the CS name plate, but I also know BMW learned they can move these premium lines and the margins are so much bigger for them, so the motivation is there…recall BMW had a hard time selling the top dogs in the E46/E92 days, and the most desireable / valuable iterations today actually lingered on dealer lots for a while.
Assumed a higher power, AWD and auto-only model could be a CS v2 later in the run, but based on commentary above it seems like that may not wear the CS badge, but TBD! Maybe they do a GTS line and make it absolutely bonkers?!?! |

Manual, auto, xDrive, wheels, lip, carbon roof, price, etc. are not deal breakers for me.
If my dealer has an allocation, I’m in. |

If they continue to offer a MT, get another in the final year and make it a garage queen, while I drive the old one.

And purchase what? People said the same thing when Corvette went DCT & no manual, but there's nothing with similar performance & price available with a manual transmission.

dunno. go back to hot hatches (CTR, ITS, GR-C) which loses some premium element but im not too uppity to really care. go to the used market and find a nice old man driven G80 stick if i need the power. but it wont be a new G8X without a stick.

Having driven/owned a boatload of classic and muscle cars (all manual transmissions) for over 5 decades, this is my first automatic. Prior to this G87, my favs were a 1969 GTX and a 1965 Mustang K code.
That being said, it’s a terrific automobile and a hoot to drive. I don’t miss the third pedal. YMMV |

Let's wait and see. Still years to go. It might also vary by market, who knows. A bit early to tell.

If the G80 and F90 CS are any indication, the G87 CS will be an absolute weapon. I personally can't wait for this to come out.

Whoah there hoss. I've only been around these forums for a minute, but I can tell you right now that kind of optimism is not welcome here! You gotta be all doom and gloom on everything, talk about how good things were back in the day, throw in a harumph or two and walk away grumbling about how BMW has lost their way.

I meant like if they drop it into the Cs not like get rid of it lmfao. I’d only do this car manual as mine is.

Genuine question - what Audi would you go for in that case?
