What's the weather like where you live?

I woke up this morning, and noticed a Winter Storm Watch alert on my phone. When I went to bed last night, our forecast here was for a dusting of snow on Thursday and a coastal storm being too far offshore to hit us on Saturday. The National Weather Service's criteria for a Winter Storm Watch is 6+ inches of forecast snow in these parts.

When I checked my phone to read the alert to see what changed, it was for the South Carolina Midlands again. Apparently an inch of snow and 0.1-0.2" of ice in the forecast for Thursday night into Saturday qualifies for a Winter Storm Watch down south.....

South Carolina seems to be getting the raw end of the deal with the snowstorms.
All calm over here with 9C and even blue skies an hour ago.

Currently +5 F here as sunrise approaches, with tonight's low forecast to be -1 F.

Whenever the temps fall below 10 F recently, our deck seems to make violent "boom!" sounds as if someone had dropped a bowling ball on it. I suspect that one of the concrete sonotubes that hold the deck up is being heaved by the frost on cold evenings, stressing the wood until one of the joints finally slips like an earthquake on a fault line.....

Not much better here. 14 now, 10 tonight. How the hell did we ever survive before heated seats and steering wheels? Do you remember how freakin cold those skinny plastic steering wheels got? I hate this winter nonsense. At least we turned the corner. Sunset finally hit 5pm. It won't be long now.

It was +3 on Wednesday

, so some of the snow melted and then -13 yesterday, today -22 feels like -29

Bad Santa Ana winds right now. Sustained winds at 27mph with gusts at almost 50mph. I had a big tree come down in my back yard some years ago in these winds and I'm a little nervous. Feels like it's going to break my windows.
