So, I received a text from my AD-- she had a 40 Explorer and a 36 Celebration as demo's if I wanted to come check them out as she knew I was interested in the Explorer for myself and the Celebration for my wife.

I told her my story about how I'd just had four stents put in my heart and was grounded for a year (which has reduced my paycheck by 60-70%). I tried on the 40 Explorer and told her that the day I get my Medical back, I'll be telling her to get one-- I LOVED it, and that it'll be my "Survived something that should have killed me" watch-- my lower anterior descending artery was 90% blocked and I had NO symptoms-- we caught it (and the other three blocked arteries) completely by accident. According to two cardiologists, my FAA doc and my PCP, I would have dropped dead of a Widowmaker within a year to eighteen months. Yowtch.

That same day I get my Medical back, I told her I'll be ordering a 31 Celebration for my wife-- I figure she deserves a present for putting up with me being grounded for a year!

R.

Got my DJ41 yellow gold/white dial.

Was waiting months for the mint green fluted/jubilee but the more I saw that watch in real life, the less I was impressed. The green is nice but the remainder of the watch is too plain. I love yellow gold.

AD hit me up about this one and the rest is history. Definitely an old money lookin' piece but timeless. Not mine pictured but same thing.

Superb. Congrats on making it happen! I have the steel version, same dial (flutes and jubilee) and absolutely love it. White dial is timeless and you’ll love way the it looks with everything. Refreshing look with the lume. You’re gonna love it more every day. I also have a Sub with black dial, so the two are my “yin and yang” options.

Thanks. I was torn between the white and silver dial as they had the latter for display. But figured the white is more unique than silver and stands out more.

I may be a little young for this piece but it's nice. My dad has a Bluesy Sub which is a slightly sportier look, we can trade occasionally I suppose.

I think two-tone is back and after all, it's always in how ya rock it. That watch will look incredible with a simple white tee and jeans. You'll never regret the white dial and, IMO, if anything, the silver is the "older" looking of the two.

Killer piece.

I got that special call from the AD last week on, what I thought was going to be a GMT, that I've been waiting for (about 2 years). Unfortunately, they did not have the steel version I was looking for but they had an Everose Gold 126715CHR (https://www.rolex.com/en-us/watches/...26715chnr-0001) I could purchase. I ultimately passed as there was no way I was shelling out $40k right now. Not to mention, I believe these are selling for under MSRP on grey market.

Wait continues!

Holy crap, I'm really glad to hear you caught that proactively and avoided a catastrophe. Sorry to hear you are grounded for a year

I lost my best friend 6 years ago to a widowmaker. He was a prime athelete, on a 26 mile bike ride when he just fell over. That was it. Again - you are very fortunate.

Image of my GMT II absorbing the northeast Florida rain light (for the capture only). My GMT II is now back on my wrist. It's definitely not a museum piece, in terms of condition. This is my daily watch and is almost always on my wrist, even in the ocean.

My favorite GMT. Looks great bud.

I’ll never pay the stupid asking prices for these now so I’ll probably never own this one but I guess I’ll make do with the BLNR.

I'm happy I bought mine 12 years ago. Prices were much lower. Be that as it may, if I didn't own this one I'd be looking at a reputable grey market seller.

Would never buy one from the grey market. For me it would have be to be private sale from someone I know. That’s not hard.
