Any reason they wouldn’t drop during the last week of January?

My dealer already received January allocations for other cars. No G87 allocation yet.

Reposting from the pinned thread on the G87 orders. If anyone is looking for an MSRP allocation, the dealer I have my order with has their #2 spot available. PM me if interested and I can connect you directly with my SA, he is really good. Dealer is located in the middle of the country and can arrange shipping if you cannot pick up the car in person.

The internal rumor that I heard today is that U.S. allocations are not coming until February. I do not fully believe it.

Sadly it is looking like it will be February.

My SM stated that he has heard that the first G87 builds will more than likely not be on U.S. Center lots until May. With a May arrival I would be highly inclined to defer my #1 allocation spot and wait for the arrival of the 2024 MY in the fall. I have been waiting since the Summer 2021 so another five or six months is not going to kill me.

Man that hurts to read, hearing this and seeing people who put deposits down since June makes me nervous I should’ve done the same sooner.I recently put down a deposit at my local dealer in the middle of December, I’m number 4 in line. I really hope to have the car by winter the lastest. Oh well good things come to those who wait.

I’m a june person and first in line and this is okay with me. I ordered an RS3 in May of last year and still no allocation or anything. I’ve given up on that car, and my Audi rep is super upset.

So here's a question ....

Since production has already started, are those cars headed to Europe or Asia? Which would mean that the first G87s delivered to the U.S. market will not be the first off the assembly line?

That's good news for those of us in the early slots! Hopefully, any kinks will be worked out!

Must be nice being a "glass half full" person. I tend to view things differently, and to me, this sucks.

I'm stuck wondering where all the cars are going? How many a day do they make? Two months of production until US allocations? WTF?

I'm #3 at my dealer and they told me July/August. Sounds like now it's Oct/Nov and I might as well wait. Looks like I should defer to '24 in the hopes of an individual color...? Lame.

I personally avoid purchasing an outgoing MY when the new MY is just months away. Trade-in values as well as private party values are not effected by the delivery date so it does not matter when you take delivery as it is the model year that solely counts. Purchase a 2023 in May thru August and the 2024 automatically makes it one model year old. I feel it is best to purchase the new model year in Sept-Jan.

Doesn't surprise me that they are producing US bound cars later. They did a similar thing with the F87 M2C, US models were made first before the EU. They did this so that everyone got the M2C at roughly the same time. It's all about the logistics of producing enough cars to load on a ship and then have enough time to transport them and go through customs etc. Being that the cars are made in Mexico means they can get them to US ports much faster. In essence they should be ready for a global launch all around the same time in April.

No, not going to see an LCI after nine months of production.
