Between doing a refinance on the house that closed in June (so no June/July mortgage payment), escrow refund, and cashing a stock bonus this month. And we will find out at the end of the month what my girlfriend's bonus is going to be at her new job. It could double the number I mentioned up there. But I'm still not ready to go spend $50k on a car just yet. |

My theory is people have saved a bunch of money from not going anyplace or doing anything for a few months, combined with scaling back future spending like vacation travel. I know my parents and sister both cancelled expensive trips they had planned.

Media is making economic situation look more dire than it is. There are definitely certain industries really impacted like Restaurants, Travel And Entertainment but overall May and June are very positive.
Also 0% financing offer by Toyota doesn’t hurt. |

The July issue of BMW CCA's Roundel magazine has a comparison of the Z4 M40i and the Supra. In the end, they chose the Supra.

^I don't believe the Z4 has won any comparison test when pitted against the Zupra.
Yup, this thing is on track to outsell the A80. The J29 is also a much cheaper car when factoring inflation. |

As a Z4 Coupe owner I am always confused by the hate the Supra gets from non-Supra fanatics. I would still likely choose the C8 though... |

They're still upset that it wasn't done in-house using the LC chassis. |

Yeah but then people would complain that it weighs over 4300 lbs and handles like a boat. Really Toyota couldn't win unless they totally built the chassis and engine from scratch. Being a company ruled by bean counters that was never going to happen for a low volume car like the Supra.

The problem is that it doesn't set itself apart from other BMWs. It could have used the Z4 hardtop chassis and Toyota everything else and it would have been way less controversial (whether or not it would be a better car is up for debate)

Unless I am a track rat, the fact the Z4 roof comes off makes it way more appealing tome than the extra handling the Supra offers. Horses for courses and all that. I feel the Z4 looks better too TBH.

It's funny that they approved the LC in the first place. It's sales are piss poor. |

It has with anyone that has purchased a Z4. I love my Z4 M40i and have been extremely happy with the purchase.

There's is nothing wrong with taking advantage of cheap money if you can actually afford it.
What's a better use of $50k? Buy a Supra with cash so I have no debt? Buy it on 0% and invest the rest while making the payment. Even fiduciaries say in most cases, paying your house off early is a poor, long-term financial move vs investing the extra principal. |

THat's not what I am saying though. I'm saying folks borrow on a LOC against the house and at 2% they use it.
It still feels like there's too much debt and this is gonna end in tears one day. |

That's the problem, people just run up the debt because they aren't being told they can't anymore. Or they just get bailed out like they always do.
Canadians are definitely taking advantage of the broken system. https://globalnews.ca/news/7058667/c...hold-debt-177/ |
