Yes, someone opened a fudge factory there and they were also kind enough to make the school mascot a pirate.

I didn't know of it until a couple of months ago when I saw billboards and couldn't believe they were real.

When I lived in Topeka, the two high school football teams (arch rivals, 'cause only 2 schools) were the Seamen and the Trojans. To make it even weirder, nobody there seemed to get the humor in that.

Can't recall if the Seamen were able to get past the Trojan defense, but I don't think I could have kept a straight face for 10 minutes of play-by-play. Topeka was a very odd town (this was just before they opened the big raceway there - giving them a bit of positive cred in the motorsports world at least).

How are you enjoying the resurgence of snow and cold weather by the way? The spring of deception got me this year. I honestly thought the snow was gone until yesterday.

My trip home tripled in time, roads were literally a sheet of ice (hence the 60 car pileup on the highway north of you)

Oh I expected it, been saying it for years, maybe i notice more as i am a furriner. Every year does the SAME thing to some degree. Little warm patch in Feb or early march, teens even, then bang back to 0. Same again ion March/april then it settle sinto a month of crap around 10 degrees and soppy.

It's june before it really gets better ... october around the corner though.

Meanwhile back home we have had the warmest March/April on record, topping well over 30 every day or so.
