Got the call! From a dealer in central TX that I wasn't expecting to get the call from. Put my order in for MY2024 at MSRP

Dealer in California called me last week and said they had an allocation and I was up.

Car is in Order Received status. I've got the carbon package.

A lot of carbon pack homies showing up! Only 2 out of 34 of us on the spreadsheet, about time
Glad to see the orders are going through. Figured it would be a few months longer.

This is my first new order so I'm all new to this.

In terms of the carbon bucket delays, am I in the clear if I have received a Production Number and my order is status 111 - Order Accepted At AG?

Sounds like Christmas came early

Nope, not in the clear. Just means you got a production number. You are just in the infancy stages.

Christmas might be early for you, you may get the car by December 24.

I think the logistical issues will resolve somewhat as volume increases.

My guess is that current vehicle output out of SLP is too low to sustain more frequent RoRo ship traffic, particularly since cars are being shipped out of two different ports. These MX ports are not within the typical vehicle shipping corridor, so I can imagine BMW is trying balance shipping costs with delivery timeline expectations as best as they can.

Ultimately, they aren't going to want to pay to book and route a RoRo vessel off the usual routes to move 1000-1500 cars at a time any more frequently than absolutely necessary. One of these ships can hold 3500-4000 cars on avg, so booking it at half capacity or less can be costly (in cost per unit).

That's my take on this, without any insider info.

There's an allocation in Texas available (need to be a TX resident). If someone is interested to take it and give $1000 deposit send me a PM I'll get you in touch with the salesman. @MSRP Update: Allocation Taken

Hi,
Anyone knows of a dealer in SoCal that would accept order at MSRP?
I checked a few, but all wants 5K over MSRP.
Thanks

You can try BMW dealers in Riverside or San Diego, but the list might be long if you are willing to wait.

Hey guys,

I 'got the call' today... Sort of... I am first in line at my dealer and called to see if they received an allocation. It took me a long time to get an answer and the sales manager told me that they didn't. But then my sales rep told me they did, and confirmed my options. I have not received a tracker, and when I asked about the tracker, I am being told monday at the earliest to get it.

Does this seem normal?

Got the allocation today! It's now a MY24 just like everyone else.

I would like to opt-in to the new frozen blue color, and am working with them to see if I can do it now.

What's the timetable look like for delivery on orders placed? My dealer has an allocation open and I'm debating if go through with it or not.

This explains how I got an allocation today out of nowhere! I was 21st on my dealer's list.

Meaningless when they cannot ship the things. It does P1 customers zero good when their newly produced vehicle proceeds to sit in Mexico for another 6 to 8+ weeks after production.

FYI, SLP is currently producing 350 +/- cars daily. That is nearly 11,000 cars a month +/-.
