Flyers, my all time favorite Eastern team and the one I watched as a kid and got me interested in hockey, have been fairly weak this season--that being said they are only 8 points from leading the weak Metropolitan division--3-5 game win streaks do wonders especially against conference teams.

Ah so you know the misery of being a Flyers fan!
The coach & honestly even the GM just make boneheaded moves. Flyers have arguably the best prospect pool in the league and yet we still play bums like Weise, Manning, Lehtera. Trade one of our best scorers in B. Schenn. And then the good young kids like Patrick and TK get played like 6-8min a night.

I'm franking surprised how close the metro is across the board. And what the heck NJ.... They came out flying this year!

ya haha. Traffic on the streets around staples center was really bad because of 1) LA auto show; and 2) the holiday stuff going on at LA live. Got there just in time! Great game too. I thought we were going to lose in OT because they had the puck for like the first 3 minutes of OT but we won. Did you get to see the game?

Been the same story with Pittsburgh. Win one, lose two. They may be the team that's out...as they can't seem to pull it together. More games than others played...and they're now looking up at the wild card spots.

Now last night some unknown goalie in Vegas just handed them the L. Wonder if they'd be willing to trade him?

It's too late to say this but it seems Pittsburgh Penguins will miss Marc Andre Fleury , Murray is great but I have high doubts of the back up goalkeeper of the Pens

Canada beat Finland for their first game...Czechs took out Russia. USA is up 6-0 on Denmark 1/2 way through.

I went to two exhibition games last week. I saw Sweden, Russia and Denmark (twice). Sweden head and shoulders above the others - very surprised that Russia did not look that good.

As stated - wishing I could be there...at least for the semi's. It's cool to look back a few years and see some of the stars you've seen play when they were nobodies. Last time in Buffalo, Adam Larsson was a huge standout. I bet was playing 30+ minutes a game for Sweden.
