I think the bronze wheels with TNM is spectacular! Really debating on something like that for next spring/summer.

Really nice!

What would you like to know? It's just plug and play, no coding or anything required. Just need to find a shifter on eBay with options that match your car.

How is the turbo sound? Loud? I may look at replacing my existing intake next year. Maybe, maybe not. But I have been looking at the BMS intake.

That's the thing, and I have to be honest, it is definitely quieter than the MST style intake. Because it's a nice enclosed formed box basically, it isn't nearly as loud as the MST. If I had to put a figure on it, I would say it's a good 30 to 40% quieter.

But with the downpipe, it seems like the car pulls a lot smoother throughout the entire power range. Likely a placebo, but it definitely doesn't feel like I lost anything.

And the filter is very good quality. It's a cleanable/re-oilable heavy duty filter. Not a generic ebay type filter.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a MAD intake now (it's basically the same as MST) and I found when at the drag strip it does heat soak and slows down your times.

Not that it really matters a lot considering I'm not a competitive racer and I mainly wanted the sound. It's just a matter of now I know...lol. Just has me contemplating.

If you are used to that wonderful MAD / MST sound , you will definitely immediately miss it if you switch to BMS.

But, I figure the BMS is about the best compromise between the stock airbox and an aftermarket intake.

And I realized that I drive with the stereo / subwoofer up 99% of the time, so I never really even heard my former MST intake anyway

And I found if you have the windows up and sunroof closed, even the MAD/MST is hard to hear when inside the car even at full boost and letting off. I thought mine was quiet when I first installed it, but then I opened the window and giggled like a child LOL.

If you remember, I had the Kyostar, which was a Chinese unbranded MST.

The install went well, and the sound was excellent. But after about a month I put the factory air box back in.

The Vegas temperatures combined with spirited driving had under the hood temps very high. The heavy smell of the silicone and other intake smell always had me second guessing the quality.

And the silicone turbo inlet had a very slight crimp where it curves. Which had me questioning whether or not it actually provided less flow than the factory inlet.

TL/DR

I didn't have faith in the longevity and reliability of the intake.

Installed my AliExpress spoiler. Think I might be a mm or two off on alignment, but it's not enough to see.

Have you considered removing the under hood insulation?

Any open element intake, no matter the heat shielding, is giving up performance for sound.

Well designed closed box with better tube and filter >> any open intake.

To some, the increase in sound is appreciated more than an insignificant/unnoticeable change in performance associated with having a factory/sealed/quiet/baffled intake system.

But the website told me a gain of 18 horsepower

No, I totally get it. Intakes for our car are mostly a sound mod.

But where I live it just gets so damn hot, and I was always thinking about heat soak and long term reliability issues.

If I lived somewhere up North, I would have the MST and call it a day.

Really is a beautiful intake. But for $1,500, I'll admire it on someone else's car.

I used this kit but for the Uniden R1. I believe this one would work for you.

Had to drop off The Wife’s Golf R for service on an oil leak from the transfer case. Gonna be in the shop for a while, me thinks. Let her drive my M240 to work. I don’t think she wants the R back.

Time to look for an additional M240.

Oh the humanity!
