If I recall the initial warning fires at 50 miles left? Then there are a few additional ones after that at lower increments but ya normally I find myself at a gas station before any of those subsequent ones trigger, and often not even waiting for first warning, just for proximity/convenience.

50 then 30. The range is variable, more so on BMWs than I've seen on any of my other vehicles. I left my home yesterday and it said the range was 45 mi, by the time I got to work, 14.5 miles later, it displayed a range left of 53 miles. I drove home from work, 14.5 miles, and the range was now down to 25 miles. I got gas and put in 12.5 gallons of fuel.

The range does change depending on driving habits. Ironically, I have always got better mileage when driving sportier, and supringly even so with a stage 2 tune.

Got the BM3 Flex Fuel Kit wired in properly and the car is finally back together. It's been in various stages of undress since last Saturday.

Just took the car for a drive and everything is good to go. Ethanol content readout in dash is reading about 10%, which ProTuningFreaks says is perfect for the Shell 93 that I have in the car.

Hoping GTP gets me some maps soon so I can test this thing before it snows tomorrow. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll be wrong like usual.

Ok, I give up with the black wheels and brake dust terrorism. I drive like 10 miles and the wheels are already covered again. Aside from different brake pads, what do folks use for products to help reduce the brake dust accumulation on the wheels? I have heard of ceramic coating but wondering if there is anything else that anyone here likes.

Today got up over 750 miles and will plan to schedule the break in service for a couple weeks out.

Just finished a complete ceramic coating including wheels (black), rotors, lip, etc. Everything cleans up much easier. Next up for me is a foam cannon to further lessen the elbow grease. YMMV

Just change the brake pads. It's well worth the $600 I paid for new pads and the 30 min it took me to swap them out.

Seeing all the affordable brand wheels (VT Forged, Apex, Vision Forged, Titan 7, etc) all produced in China.

I have my opinions on this, but I’m curious to what others think on subject matter since these also seem to be the most popular wheel choices for the G8X platform.

As long as it’s forged I don’t really care where it’s produced. I have a set of VT’s on the way.

China quality is now at a point that you can no longer ignore as brands like apple used them. As long as standards are met I think it's fine. Even HRE, made in USA had issues.

Absolutely agreed, however I just still can’t ignore the fact that the wheels are made in the same factories as the ones you can buy in aliexpress.

Having some of the greatest wheels produced in Japan, EU, I can’t help but think maybe the steep price increase is worth it? I’m no wheel expert, but the production quality has to be different at some point.

Despite what others say...no, not all forged rims are made equal by any means (and I dont mean flow vs full).

I think popularity with some is low pricing. I am not telling everyone should purchase the best or most expensive but for me, I am mindful as to what I use/put on the car. If I cant afford it, I either dont buy it or wait till it makes economic sense for me to purchase/install it.

Not everything is for everyone and that is ok but one shouldn't be criticized for their choices or making senseless statements like, "you're an idiot, its all the same and you are just overpaying for a name (I was talking with someone last week about using Autobahn ceramic IR tint...I am not spending $2,000+ for tint but I know why its that price and if thats what someone wants, who am I to say they shouldn't have the best?).

Solid point, and agreed with all said. I am the same way. Call me a name brand snob or delusional because I don’t want brands made in China, but I just know what I like and what I don’t.

I always check where everything is made before it goes on my car.

Before anyone says “some parts on the G87 are from China” I understand that. But what I’m willing to buy aftermarket, I choose to spend the extra dollar or not at all.

PS- I think the Chinese made stuff looks great, I just can’t justify it for myself.
