Hosting an exchange student
I'm wondering if anyone has hosted a foreign exchange student. If so, what was the experience like? My wife has got it in her head that is a good idea and wants to give it a shot. I really don't know much about what to expect, aside from having a complete stranger from another country move into my house and I need to feed him.

Is it for the experience or are you being paid? How long is it for?
Usually students will stay in their room most of the time when they are home and otherwise they will not be home much once they make friends. Depending on where they are from, they may not like the food you provide. Ask what they like and keep it simple.

Your wife just wants a hot young stud to bang
Jks! Do you know their age group? That will change if it's someone you need to actually to take care of, or more of a place to just crash to sleep!

a) Do at least 3 to 4 interviews, find some help from people that work or know about exchange programs. b) Before move explain with detail the house rules. c) You need to be flexible on certain things to make the student feel welcome and comfortable. d) Stablish schedules. (Dinner, sleep time, work time, etc.) e) Make him/her feel welcome and part of the family. f) If that student pass your intwerviews keep in mind he/she is a good person and wont do anything stupid or bad. Keep calm. g) Always show that you and your wife are the authority. h) If the student like to drink, smoke or drugs.... do that out of the house. Important point. I know a friend that do that for living (good profits) so if you have extra doubts I can consult him.

My wife likes em older, a HS kid will not interest her at all. Hence the reason we'd host a guy. If he had a girl stay here there's a good chance I'd be posting, "help, I knocked up our 16 year old foreign exchange student and my wife threw me out of the house."

Unless they are super motivated into studying, I would not do it.
One of my friend when I was in HS was international student, and he was all about hanging out etc. I felt bad for the host. Of course his family had to infuse at least $3000/mo to the host family. |

Do you have any children in your household? I think it helps if you have children who are of similar age to the exchange student.
My friend's family hosted an exchange student for 2 years. Her family has 3 daughters (including her), all in the 17-21 range. The exchange student was 17. My friend's family will actually invite the exchange student to family trips now because they fostered such a strong rapport. |

I banged my buddies exchange student back in senior year of HS at his birthday party....,
I would suggest finding a female exchange student, she could be down for a trio with you and your wife. If you know it's going to be a dude, I guess that's up to you and if you're down with some MFM action. GL with your endeavor! |
